Looks good for the money, the only thing missing is a sd slot. Cheaper alternative to the op3.

Seems really good value for money.... I'm a bit nervous to spend out on an unknown (to me) brand but the reviews are good so far.

Xiaomi (translation: small rice) are massive, make lots of different consumer electronics - not just phones - and most of it is well made and brand leading. They are growing very rapidly outside of their domestic market of China.

The reason they still don't figure very highly in the UK for phones is that there has been very little take-up by the networks to resell their phones which is the bulk of where the UK public get their handsets.

Just do a bit of research then you'll get an idea. It also has the same camera sensor as the Google Pixel phones

That review is for the Mi5, not the newer Mi5s.

Mi Mix is cool but it's £400+. Having said that it looks cutting edge, makes the iPhone look old fashioned and over priced. Deserves to to well.

it's worth restating that most of the xiaomi phones lack LTE band 20 which you need to use them on O2 and it's riders like giffgaff and Tesco. this is sad as their reputation amongst the China phones seems to be very high. In most cases you need a special edition (usually targeted at Taiwan) to get band twenty from xiaomi. list of those I know about here https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare-smartphones/i_b+slug.xiaomi,fe_bands-lte-800

My lads working in HK and can get them there much cheaper than buying from GearBest ect. But it seems they're only going to be making 300,000 Mi Mix a month! So they're going to be in very short supply for the first couple of months.
So, either a Note 2 now or a Mix in Jan. . .
