Been waiting for a deal on this phone and it just came down by £30 just now. Xiaomi Mi5 Pro. This is a better version of the older Mi5 with 4GB RAM/128GB memory. This Pro version is almost the same in specs as the Mi5S, except this one comes with a ceramic body instead of metal. This lower price is for White Ceramic.

Full specs: http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_5-6948.php

The price includes "Seller's shipping method". Which is how they claim "always tax free" and it should be delivered in 7days. This as well includes a 1year manufacturer's warranty as well as 3rd party warranty by TWG: http://www.thewarrantygroup.eu/uk/

Good luck getting any Android OS updates with these cheap chinese phones. Would never trust any chinese manufacturers simply because they cripple your phone with malwares. Get a cheap chinese phone and risk having your sensitive data exposed to the commies.

Xiaomi rolls out security updates more often than Google. And with the international warranty and this price it's worth a shot. Almost identical to S7, except this one probably won't catch fire while in your pocket... Confirmed cashback: £21.11

this is an excellent phone and it's a good price too. The fool who was talking about no OS updates is talking out of his ass and doesn't know a thing about xiaomi (the biggest phone manufacturer in China). They provide their own skin called miui and it does have good updates. in any case, even if you don't like miui then this phone is backed by many developers on XDA so you can flash your own ROMs to your heart's content (I would recommend doing this).

however I still wouldn't purchase this phone for 2 reasons:

1. the build quality is terrible, if you watch Jimmy rig everything then you can watch him snap this phone faster than a 'soggy cracker'.

2. I would recommend paying more and purchasing the mi5s as the mi5s has the same camera sensor as the Google pixel which means my friends over at XDA will one day port the Google pixel's camera to the mi5s which means a gigantic improvement on camera performance when we compare to the mi5. mi5s also has a better processor, build quality (and design but beauty is in the eye if the beholder so we may have conflicting opinions) and fingerprint sensor.

I personally prefer the design of Mi5 to Mi5S. Performance wise almost the same thing I would assume, if any noticeable difference at all. I don't care about the camera a lot.

processor is more efficient and I forgot to mention the battery is larger too so overall better battery performance on the s version

edit: then again, the cheapest mi5s I could find (in grey) is £335 which is much more than this cost and if it is worth the extra cash is up to you. I'm personally going to wait until the mi5s's price drops to about £300ish which may take a month or 2 :D

edit 2: the build quality is actually quite important to me as I will be using my next phone for a couple of years (until it pretty much dies). the mi5 has very poor quality and the back is a fingerprint magnet with it being glass and all so I would avoid it, initially I liked the mi5 over the mi5s too but the new design slowly grew on me.

I'll bite the bullet. Still I believe Mi is one of the best quality/price brands there is on the market. Probably more safer than this - http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/instrumental-galaxy-note-7-teardown-news/ as well

Edit: Just watched Jimmy rig everything, seems he tested the standard version of the Mi5. Hopefully ceramic will help. Impressed by the Mi Mix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CZj-l9MJmg !!

That's quite current don't ya think?

No band 20 though which they have on one of their cheaper phones so why not this.

I would have bought this instantly if it was the black version.

Why do you prefer it to white?

It's just a personal preference. Almost every phone, and other piece of tech I have bought, has been black.

Hopefully the black version will see a price drop soon, now that the mi5s is out.

Thanks for posting the deal anyway. I voted it 'hot'.

ceramic is more brittle than glass so when it comes to bending or falling it certainly won't help with cracks but it will help with scratches. as for the colour, there is a black bezel around the screen which is VERY visible on all the colours except for black. one trick to hide the bezels would be with a black wallpaper but this won't work when you're in an app. personally I prefer the black version too.
