The G4 is nowhere near as good as this in any performance measure, it's totally outclassed.

I notice that this comes with a Chinese Rom, what does that mean? Also camera wise, how did this phone perform? Is the quality as good as the mainstream manufacturers?

Xiaomi is about as mainstream as it gets :D

China Rom means it's Chinese oriented but there is English language on it. There's a global rom for the rest of the world from Xiaomi themselves, switch to that one and it's all good. Or install any custom rom, a fair few official ones.

The camera is very good, I actually think the Mi 5 had a slightly better one but still :D For sub £250 nothing comes close. If the Moto Z ever came back to £299 that would be interesting.

Appreciate it is overall a better phone but the screen and photo quality of the G4 was one of the significant positives. Though I don't own the Mi5s (redmi note 3 pro) the feedback on camera is not as good for xiaomi. The screen is also full HD only (can't believe I am adding only!) Based on the quality of the redmi note 3 I have no doubt that the build quality on this will be in league above the G4. And the finger print sensors on xiaomi just work...well. Better than the double tap to wake on the G4 (imo).

The screen is high res but fairly pedestrian contrast, LG didn't get QHD right till the G5. The camera is very good but the crap processor means I'd stay well away from any 2015 flagship. Bad year for Android phones altogether bar the 6P.

I love the lg g6, but wont pay the crazy price, may wait 6 months and see if it drops significantly, other than that, might then go for a Xiaomi

Yeah, the G6 should have launched at £350-400, what with the slew of better flagships about to arrive it should sink in price as is usual with LG. But I think I'd prefer this tbh, the 2:1 screen seems a gimmick and people don't use their phones for productivity enough to justify it.

The Mi5s wasn't such a good version if reviews are to be believed. The standard Mi5 will be a lot cheaper and is at least as good, otherwise hunt out the Mi5s Plus (if you can handle a bigger screen)

The camera has the same sensor as the pixel but not same software so not like pixel quality photos.

also custom rom close to stock Android is available on XDA forums
