Gold one £10 cheaper?

The gold one is the standard 2GB/16GB version. This on is Prime (3GB/32GB).
#3
Is there still the Which £20 deal?

EDIT: Seems there is so potentially £110 odd

I'm looking for a new phone but not sure about this and the other imported models, most likely similar standard to established brands but still feels a little unknown and not sure whether to go for something like this. Do these need user uploads and/or updates to get the best from them or can they just be switched on and used?

The moto G4 4th gen or this i cant make my mind up

works fine straight from (the sealed) box with international rom, pretty much updates itself.

its well made, fast, easy to use and i find the camera is fine for day to day pics. cant really say anything bad about it to be fair.

Battery should last longer and is it such a big deal on a 5" screen? Bet it's better than the HTC One screen from a few years ago and that was more than good enough.

this uses a snapdragon 430, which might feel a bit slower than the g2. also got a slightly smaller screen

Thanks. Just ordrered as it appears to be a good price form a UK seller. Also hope to get 2.2% back from Quidco. I believe that TopCashback also give 2.2%

Just a bit confused about the "4G Ready" as am trying to decide between this mobile and the Motorola G4, 4G LTE (downside its a bit big). Phonearena review states "Currently, the Redmi 3S is limited to Chinese 4G network support, A well-rounded package all around, although buyers outside of China ought to steer clear." Is this correct. Based on this alone I would have to lean towards the Motorola.

is this better than a samsung galaxy s4 in terms of camera and battery life?

Yes. You will notice a big difference in battery life, and bit better camera than the S4.

I would also like to know this. The title says 4G but previous comments are confusing.

You should be fine. The problem, generally, with Xiaomi phones, is lack of LTE band 20. This usually means that if you use O2 or Vodafone, or any network that use them, your 4G experience will be less than great, or even worse, none at all. This phone however, has support for band 20, so 4G should be all good.

Not Gorilla glass then? How fragile are these? The P9 Lite was the same spec more or less, but the glass was weak if dropped from a lowish height.

I have switched from S4 to this and battery is much better (SOT: 4-4.5h vs 8-9h). Photos look a bit better when taken with S4.

Go for the Xiaomi redmi note 4, if you get the global ones they can be switched on and used, very simple. I got mine in December and I love it. Especially the battery life.

Be warned no UK region after selecting UK language so time etc is messed up. Not a very international ROM with no UK!

The UK locale is never available, but the time on my Mi5 is perfect. Has been on all my other Xiaomi devices.

Time is set by the phone network, it is only messed up if you dont fit a SIM.

Yyou might notice a lack of European countries in the list - even though the Falkland Islands and South Georgia are listed!!

Phone is aimed at India, so setting to India usually gets a few extra goodies.

I should point out that this is a fairly old tech phone now, the basic tech spec is about 4 years old and you can buy a much newer tech phone from Xiaomi via AE for less money, that will be much faster.

Having said that, I have a similar era Xiaomi Note that is still supported and updated by Xiaomi on a regular basis.
