I have the non B20 version of this, it recently updated to MIUI 8.1 and it's great. Albeit a lower midrange SoC but works perfectly well for what I need.

I'm deliberating between this and the wileyfox swift 2 plus. On paper they have very similar specs but this has a bigger battery and is £40 cheaper. The swift 2 plus has nfc and some kind of warranty if it goes wrong.

Does anyone have any feedback on this phones camera quality? I'm assuming it won't be very good.

You should pay customs and VAT. But often they under invoice and you get away with the fraud.

Me and me mate been trying to get hold of one of these for a month now.

Gearbest never had the B20 version in stock.

I ordered from GeekBuying after my Banggod refund along with a headset. Headset has already been shipped out but the phone hasnt and now says awaiting stock.

Chat tonight with an agent says its been packed and will ship this week so fingers crossed!

Banggood never had any stock in even after advertising it was, three weeks of waiting and emails ended up with me cancelling a week ago for a refund and them sending him an email today saying:

Dear customer,

First of all we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your continued support.

The colors gold and gray of the item you recently ordered ([1094066]Xiaomi Redmi 3s Global Edition 5 inch 3GB RAM 32GB ROM Snapdragon 430 Octa-core 4G Smartphone) are out of stock and have been discontinued.

For the above-mentioned reason we can’t send you the item you ordered and instead we would like to offer you the item [1061752]Xiaomi Redmi 3s 5 Inch Fingerprint 3GB RAM 32GB ROM Snapdragon 430 Octa-core 4G Smartphone(gold) without extra payment.

The item is slightly different from the original one. The 4G mode only supports: FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7 TDD-LTE B38/B39/B40/B41: 2555-2655MHz. You can also check whether this device can be used in your country by opening the following link: http://forum.banggood.com/forum-topic-9641.html

You can also request to cancel your order and apply for a full refund.

Please let us know how you would like us to proceed. If we do not receive your reply within 3 days, we will automatically cancel your order and issue a refund to you of the item 1094066 , which is currently unavailable. We will then ship the available items to your delivery address as soon as possible.

Sorry for the inconvenience and we hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,
Banggood Team

So, if you are looking at one Id grab it now as AliExpress sellers usually have in stock what they say is in stock!

i want to know the same. if you use the app it will add the warrenty therefore increasing the price.

also why does it say dhl 95% chance you will have to pay customs?

The import duty rate for importing Dhl into United Kingdom is 14% , the import VAT is 20%, when classified under Electronics & Video Games → TV, Home Theatre & Projectors → Television | LCD with HS commodity code 8528.72.4000

Their stupid warranty still gets added on even in a mobile browser - any ideas how to make it go away?
Choose delivery country USA before adding to cart.
Ad to cart without warranty, when placing the order set the delivery country to UK and bingo, ordered without extra warranty

didnt really understand that. is that just if i select dhl shipping or will i be hit with customs even if i chose the slowest which i think is just china air mail haha

the way i manage to get it in GBP currency and avoid warranty
was to make account. add to cart with mobile browser
then switch to android app and view cart and can change currency in the settings
and no warranty
used standard shipping the free. apparently according to others it has highest chance of not getting hit with customs
(if i tried straight from app it adds the warranty and on the mobile browser i could change country but not currency )

Hi risk of paying customs tax by using dhl - so depends if you want to wait 20 days or pay £20 for it (roughly)

Try this instead. Desktop browser. Change 'Ship to' country to U.S. Add to basket. Now change back to U.K (there's a separate 'Ship my order(s) to' setting at the top corner of the basket page itself as well. Make sure that's changed back to U.K too. The warranty charge won't be added.

I don't know the specifics but the way in which DHL handles their parcels when they enter the country will mean it's almost guaranteed to be hit with customs. I assume they must be declaring all their shipments. However via free shipping, there's a high chance it'll not get stopped, thus avoiding any customs. Check the recent comments on the Mi Max Geekbuying thread. Only those who had DHL delivery got additional charges.

Anyone actually own one of these phones for more than a week? A timed review would be nice as there are about a million off brand smartphones out there that are a quarter of the price of something you'd expect on par for something branded like Samsung or Apple, which leads me to believe they'll break down and wont last more than a year.... I'm in need of a phone but this seems a little too good to be true....
#35
tempted to get one for my lad ... was considering the swift but looks like at this price I'm going to bite

p.s. what is it with all these 5.5" phones and bigger ... seriously need more players to produce 5" mobiles

I've owned the Note version for around 9 months now. I've had no issues with it and it's the best phone I've owned. Previously I've owned the Samsung Galaxy S4/5 and HTC M8/9. I highly recommend Xiaomi products. I also own the Mi Band and Yeelight. They are top quality at an unbelievable price

took the plunge ... and looking forward to receiving - any idea on average ship times to the UK?

EDIT:

AliExpress Standard Shipping
Free Shipping
Estimated Delivery Time:20-40 Days

by the way, it didn't add any warranty to my order automatically. Also I've paid via CC in USD ... but will hopefully just charge at 108 GBP.

This vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 vs Huawei p9 lite
Thanks in advance

Processor, Note 3>p9 Lite>this
Updates is tricky probably p9 lite, this and then the Note as it's older.
Note is more phone for money especially if you can get the full network one like this, p9 lite wins on warranty though, probably on camera too.
