Will this phone have touchscreen problems, such as for example the vodafone smart 6 where when I was texting quickly the touchscreen didn't like keep up?

Could you explain why you have inserted the word like between didn't and keep?

Are these really any good??? i mean one plus one good?? i was considering one for a teenager but is they are anything like they use to be these chinese cheap rubbish are flakey at the best
u know nothing hkphooey about these rubish Chinese phones

It makes me laugh people still put all Chinese phones in the same boat as fakes/clones or other low grade electronics to come out of China.

China have their own brands like Xiaomi where quality is on par with anything sold here, you really think they keep all high end manufacturing for us and give the Chinese market a load of crap. Xiaomi are the third largest phone manufacturer worldwide.

So do you need to flash a new rom on these, and is it a fairly straight forward process?

No it should already have Global Rom installed, even the Chinese firmware has English language anyway.

I have had the 3 gb 32 gb model for about a month now. I am absolutely delighted v fast and responsive super screen. The only downside is that it's poorer than my last phone at picking up mobile phone signal at home. I would definitely buy again, bought it from Ali express delivery within the week no import duty to pay

Also have the 3 gb 32 gb version, i dislike my iphone6s compared to this, still got 40% or more after using it a lot all day, fast as lightning.

Great phone, but just be aware they cant operate on 4G 800MHz.

If you don't know what that means read THIS

You can also run a check below as things do change and its probably more up to date

Great phone. Cyanogenmod 13 is now official and runs well if set up correctly. I don't think it can be beaten for the price. Mine was slightly cheaper from an AliExpress seller pre-Brexit so this is a decent price since that debacle.

Two better versions, one with 3gb ram and 32gb storage, usually on here for not a great deal more than this and the very elusive Taiwan version with that as well as band 20.

Couldnt you just return to UK shop? Covered by UK consumer rights surely?

Main issue is its missing 800Mhz for some of the 4g connectivity in UK.
Oh and if it goes wrong you have no chance of remediation.

Excuse my ignorance but, can't we just buy it from the manufacturers directly?

It seems a little more expensive but you'd get rid of an unreliable middle man

I assumed it was since that's what the Xaoimi UK Mi store redirects me to. Am I wrong?

I paid $170 for the Gold Version from Ali Express seller Hong Kong Goldway and they shipped within 36 hours. If quidco comes through then it will be just under £120.

I would the bit extra and go for the higher spec version. As to the ROM there are numerous youtube videos on how to install the global Rom.

16 August Xiaomi will release MIUI 8 Global for public consumtpion based on Marshmallow.

Flashing CM13 was tricky and far more had to be done with this than any other phone I've flashed before. I also couldn't find a definitive single guide. I believe it's easier to flash the global MIUI ROM which removes the Chinese apps. Some vendors will do this for you.

Ok I took the plunge, 2GB/16GB in gold, now the waiting. Was between this and the Honor 5C, but I keep reading the 5C has a worse screen (low brightness and contrast). Hope 5.5" isn't too big.

Cheers for the replies btw.

I've just bought a Moto "E". 2nd Gen for £29 plus £10 vodafone top up.
Its a smaller display than this and a lower spec.
I've put a 128GB SD card in it and its like an iPod, controls SONOS, CCTV, Google Play Music, web browsing, youtube etc - no lag.
I got a glass screen cover for £1.50 very impressed with the whole phone - although I dont game.
My main phone is iPhone 6 and have had iPhones since 2007.
Iam amazed at how good this sub £40.00 mini computer is if someones knows if it will game I whole heartedly recommend the Moto E to your teenager.
hope this helps

the camara is not the best.

Usually you just ask the seller nicely to mark the phone "$20 mp3 player" then there's no import tax.

You can buy a 'UK warranty' from aliexpress now, which apparently offers a UK replacement' guarantee. No idea if it's as good as described, of course.

Oh! Is this the SU6 then that does that? I thought it was just Google Keyboard. Maybe it's a combination of both as it seems smoother using the Swype app. But I do see what you mean when I use Google keyboard, that even misses out words. Dunno!

it'll play dead trigger 2. I've got one as a backup for every time I send my note 4 back for repairs.
