I don't know about these cheap brands, the battery could explode.

Yeah I heard about the battery on these cheap brand phones exploding.
It was called Samsung.

Are banggoos items shipped from China? Should the customs charges be added?

Shame it is not International version that supports 4G 800Mhz (B20) band, though can be bought on AliExpress for slightly more price, but again can't be said with confidence they're genuine seller, so always a risk buying from China based supplier.

Edit: There was huge thread here for deal on international version but has disappeared all of a sudden :(

Got this in the 2gb ram version and been great, updates from the manufacturer happen approx every month so far but kooing at phone settings think they are updates to the miui software whereas android is still on 5.1.1

Why would you get this over the international version?

Same model as mine - first MIUI device I've owned after wanting to try out the software for a few years, and I have to say I really like it. Only had experience of the Xperia software over the last few years and I prefer MIUI to that.

Don't these take like ages to arrive when ordered? Something in the region of over three weeks?

redmi note 3 pro special edition (kate) already has android 6 and the standard snapdragon version (kenzo) should be getting android 6 soon according to this article:

here is link to special edition thread http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/official-global-version-xiaomi-redmi-note-3-3i-pro-prime-special-version-smartphone-2499464#comments
the difference between the two are special edition has band 20 support so 4g on o2 , tesco ,giff gaff and comes with android marshmallow also is 2mm longer this is because of extra hardware to support band 20 etc all other specs identical no cases or screen protectors out at the moment for this model

The snapdragon version is an officially supported cyanogenmod device.. and the first thing I would do would be to flash the dodgy firmware. Otherwise this phone is amazing specwise. I had a look at unlooking the bootloader and, although the initial site is in chinese, once you login using your facebook you can choose English, so it shouldnt' be too hard..

Usually 14-21 days from Bangood in my experience. About the norm for something from China that isn't shipped express.

What is it with this name "banggood"
I mean if I said to my misses I've got something from banggood I'm sure she would say "Darling, no need you are perfect as you are"
Seriously if I sat down and said right I want to start an online e-commerce business but I want the name to be as bad as I could possible think-
Numero Uno : banggood
wouldn't touch with barge pole as owner must be an idiot dreamimg up a name like that.

Maybe the owner on his search of international markets came across some lovely ladies and had a REALLY good time.

Ends up calling his company banggood

I have just received the cheapest one from Gearbest (no band 20) and after going through the rigaramole of figuring out the flash tool, registering to unlock the bootloader... Then I actually checked using fastboot and it was already unlocked!!

Got CM13 on it now and it's running very well, just a few minor bugs relating to waking it.

The screen is great, the size is fine, battery life seems very good. The build quality is good but the whole thing flexes a lot more than my Nexus 5X, I think dropping it would be worse on the screen. The metal back feels good quality but the look of the front feels cheap.

Still a solid thumbs up from me.

how long does it take to charge n is it type c or micro USB? reason for asking is every micro USB port phone I ever owned had problems with port so considering type c. trying to find out for days that one plus three how long does it take to charge with normal fast charge cable as I'm not planning on paying £26 for a cable

Will this phone work on the 3 network?
#29
I have this phone and love it. The battery is great and easily lasts 2 days with normal use should I forget to charge it overnight.

The international miui ROM is actually quite pretty and fairly slick so I have not yet bothered investigating putting a different Rom on it. The days of having to have the Samsung flagship are well behind me now.

I just wish I could find a tempered glass screen protector that lasts longer than 5 minutes before cracking!

Got mine from aliexpress about 3 months ago absolutely delighted with it. Delivery was within the week and no duty to pay, the seller guarantees this

The best phone I've ever owned.
I have cyanogenmod installed.
Battery listening to music all day at work I get home still with 70%. If I lose/break I'm buying another instantly

I've had mine since about March, I paid more like £175 and thought that was a bargain. At this price you can't go wrong. I would say after nearly six months, the screen isn't as scratch resistant as I expected, but it's pretty good. I would buy another if I lost this one

Sold out in silver. Only gold left. Not sure I could live with gold.

Have been saying to people why get a Xiaomi Note 2 when you can get a better spec 2nd Hand Samsung Note 2 for about the same price? But I now have to eat my words with this Xiaomi Note 3. This is a great phone.

Many Specs are significantly better the 2012 Note 2 - 3Gb Ram vs 2Gb Ram, Similar 5.5inch Display, 8-core SnapDragon vs Quad Core A9, better GPU. Better Battery - 4000mAh vs 3100mAh. 4G vs 3G
The standout is the camera - 16MP 5 element, vs only 8MP on the Note 2.

I personally don't want to lose the ability to take actually take Notes, sign PDF documents etc.. on my phone, which is where my Galaxy Note 2 is still massively better, as it actually takes notes with its pen... and how fast do you really need your phone? But by gum these Xiaomi whippersnappers have made me think twice....
