Yes. Isn't a certain fruit based phone made in China. :D

Only jesting I'm slightly worried about the firmware/software they put on some of these Chinese phones at though am tempted by the OnePlus.

Back track upon earlier HUKD Threads on here, from some month's ago into last year ...

If I recall well, at least 1 or 2 other people posed a similar question too?.

But answer's along the lines of DON'T trust it, Chinese Phones with in-built Spyware upon either their Android OS ROM, and/or upon the Phones own Firmware!, kinda had habit's of popping up?, so ..... (take your Banking App on Phone 'necessities' with a pinch of salt, huh?, lol).

Beware!, basically .... :-)

after some help if possible!

I have a Huawei P8 at the moment, it is on contract with around 8 months left to run but the ear piece has broken and I kind of need to replace it. I like the P9 but the lite is around £250 sim-free which is a little over the top for me (I used to spend a fortune on phones) so I am considering a chinese phone. However, I cannot wait for the long delivery times as I need it pretty sharpish. Would anyone know of any UK suppliers where I can purchase a chinese phone from and also what phone they would recommend that is similarly specc'd to the P9 or better?

Thanks

That is not too bad but it is still a little too long for me as the ear piece does not work at all and I do need a phone sharpish!

hi i wonder someone would be able to tell me the difference between xiaomi redmi note 4 and xiaomi redmi note 4 prime. Another seller Dreami is selling prime version. the link is https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Dreami-Original-Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-4-Prime-3GB-RAM-32GB-ROM-MTK-Helio-X20-Deca-Core/32782073462.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.OacBMj

Probably being stupid, but how do I remove the paid warranty on this item? I assume I can?
#35
Would like to try this but been told it needs flashed with ROM to get Google play working out box as if Google play is already installed it's probably a dodgy one with malware installed by the vendor

They're both 3GB/32GB so there's no differences. For the Redmi Note 4, the "Prime" naming isn't official but sometimes sellers use "Prime" to differentiate between the RAM/Storage sizes. Since there is a 2GB/16GB Redmi Note 4 model, it's considered as the base model whereas the 3GB/32GB and 3GB/64GB versions might be called "Prime" or "High". This is down to seller naming convention though. It can cause confusion since Xiaomi have officially used "Prime" in some of their phones where the differences could be more than just the RAM/storage. For example the Redmi 4 Prime compared to the Redmi 4 is basically a whole different phone. For the Redmi Note 4 however, the only current variation is the RAM/Storage sizes. So a RN4 3/32GB version that says "Prime" will be no different compared to one that doesn't say Prime.

I paid extra 21 pounds for 64GB pro prime model - later realised it's just useless extra money
32GB is enough storage for mobile

I guess it may come in handy if you're downloading a lot of game apps that take up a lot of storage since moving them to SD isn't always straightforward. "Pro" is another name that can get used by sellers a lot when it doesn't always equate to any differences. This Redmi Note 4 3/64GB "Pro" will be the same spec as this 3/64GB "Pro Prime" and this 3/64GB "Prime". However for Redmi Note 3, depending on seller the differences could be "Pro Prime" = Snapdragon 3/32GB, "Prime" = Mediatek with 3/32GB, "Pro" = Snapdragon 2/16GB. Neither "Pro" or "Prime" = Mediatek 2/16GB. But again it's dependant on the seller so it might not always be the case. The differences in seller naming when it comes to Xiaomi phones is a mess!
