I have the xiaomi led light strip and I can say it's better than I was expecting, good built quality, good adhesive on the back ( i had trouble keeping other chinese led strips not to fall off) and the yeelight app is surprisingly good, I just hope the light bulb will be the same

Bought this a month ago at roughly the same price and loving it.

Is this compatible with hue bridge?
#5
Fantastic product. I have 2 running through Alexa.

You don't need a bridge for these. The bulbs connect directly to your WiFi.
#7
I have two paired up with Alexa. Work brilliantly. Alexa controls on and off, and also sets light to a %. You can also setup Alexa to change colours and colour schemes if you set up the IFTTT app

What skill do you add to alexa for these?

Bit like the Lifx then. Is there a way to have these work in harmony with hue bulbs then? Would that be Smart Things?

Hmm, it says on the website that these won't work at 240v, which is what we have in the UK, only at 220v, which seems to make them a bit pointless for us Brits!

I've bought two of these and the light strip, and they all work perfectly. I have no knowledge of volts amps or whatevers, but they work. I absolutely love them, they work so well.

You're really not helping ;) I'm gonna end up buying 5 of these I think.

Can I set the colour and brightness with the app and this will be remembered so that I can then just turn them on and off with the normal light switch, as I imagine it would be a pain to have to switch the lights with an app all the time?

PS. Can you post a link to the strip you bought as well please?

That's a link to a pic of the app's screen allowing you to set colour and brightness defaults

I only use the app,or set a schedule but you can set an automatic default in case of lost power. I'll get you the link for the strip now... Clicky
There might be other sellers selling it slightly cheaper, but this arrived in just over a week. You will need an adaptor though as it's a Chinese plug. I got one from tesco for less than £2.
it's surprising how much difference it can make if you put it behind a unit or under the kitchen units. lot of bang for your buck. I can take some pictures later if you're interested.

Thanks, the strip is a bit more expensive than I expected but do post some pictures if you get a chance, it'll be useful to see how it looks in place.
