Okay, so the choice of sizes are extremely limited but if you're after a cheap, reasonable quality motorcycle helmet you can't go too far wrong! I've had a couple of Takachi helmets and have always found them fine even over long distances.

Light weight, fibreglass aerodynamic shell.
Anti-scratch visor.
Fully vented, adjustable top & chin vents, flow through rear vents.
Ultra soft removeable comfort fit liner.
Quick release faceshield - easy on/off.
Protective drawstring fabric carrying bag.
ACU Gold

So this helmet, including delivery, would cost you £23.00. Pretty good value!

P.S... first post... be gentle :-)

The only Takachi which has gone through the official SHARP test is the TK-30 and it scored 2 out of 5 (very poor). I have no problem with helmets being cheap (I don't like to pay over the odds for a fancy brand name) but I'd be wary of this one for performance reasons.

There are cheap helmets out there which do perform well in the SHARP test.

If your head is only worth £25.00 then this is the helmet for you. Cheap rubbish:?

Useless comment. It's a big mistake to asses a helmet on price. Some expensive helmets come our quite poorly in the tests.

The old ones are the best

If your head is only worth £500, then buy a £500 helmet.

Wouldn't buy this though

No - because of the test results, not the price.

Can I point out though that this helmet hasn't been SHARP tested (yet) - all we know are the results from a different helmet by the same manufacturer.

OK it's very unlikely that this helmet is going to be a 5* result however for all we know it could well come out as a 3 or 4 star.

And yes very true about price and safety not necessarily being linked. FE take the Schuberth S1 - a £400-plus helmet, it got 2 stars.

All true - so this one would be a gamble but with the probability that it is poor.
