I was going to say, I recognise that price!

Thanks for the credit - I still think your original find was good, but I guess others didn't agree!
Good deal but Sandy Bridge is around the corner...

Well there's spooky.
I am just setting mine up after receiving it today!
I spotted this a couple of weeks ago and couldn't resist. Quidco is tracking well!
Good spot IMHO.
Looks like a good system especially for that price.

I was going to say that but already said it in another thread so didn't want to keep saying it!

I guess that's why this machine is in the January Clearance then.
the link seems to go the us site
Oh, believe me when I say I will have to...Ivy Bridge is just too long to wait! But the key is knowing when (and what) is coming down the pipeline and then making the decision as to whether you should wait or buy now.
oops... did OP mention that this is a Refurbished machine.... :|
It wasn't a refurb - there are no refurb XPS 15s yet. But the machine has disappeared from the January Clearance.

And Sandy Bridge launches on 9th January 2011, so 3 days time with immediate availability (some laptops in Singapore already have it) - that really is 'round the corner' and the speed increase is phenomenal!
Are there any Laptop at decent prices with Sandy Bridge 2nd gen I5 yet on the market??
Are there any Laptop at decent prices with Sandy Bridge 2nd gen I5 yet on the market??

There’s a problem with the Sandy Bridge chipsets so Intel have issued a recall so most large OEMs have stopped shipping systems and motherboards.
The expected release date for a new revision of the chipset is around April.

I don’t think the dual core mobile parts have been released yet as it was only the quad core mobile parts that were released in January.
