It's actually a good £50 less than the comparable non-deal spec but the reason it's in the clearance sale is most likely due to Intel's Sandy Bridge 2nd gen Core i coming out very soon. I wonder if discount vouchers and Quidco apply? If anyone does get it, the £170 B+RG LED 1080p screen upgrade is worth it and that definitely puts it in range of the 10% off.
This laptop was £50 cheaper last week - discount voucher expired 1st Jan.
If you spec the 1080p screen it lists at £802 something and discounts to £722 using the Quidco 10% voucher possibly with Quidco on top of that (at 7% I think).

As it stands the standard spec above, the £629 price falls to £597.55 using this 5% off voucher 69DVXBHL66V3VS (from Quidco) and then possibly Quidco on top of that (7% for all other sales).

I voted this deal 'hot'. It's a brilliant laptop, and for anyone interested, the 1080p screen upgrade is near-on essential for the stunning contrast and colour reproduction.

Are you sure that wasn't the lower-spec Core i3 version which is still up at £579? You can see it on the left:

I've been paying pretty close attention as this is the only laptop I'm considering upgrading from my XPS M1530 for.
Might want to change the title from "Dabs" to "Dell"
