Voted hot... Have had a VC2 for over a year now, has lasted longer than Nitecore

vc2 plus here.

I had an unused 3 amp 5v power supply and soldered on the 5.5mm 2.5mm power connector and use that at home.

The USB cable used in the car.

I like being able to choose 0.5A or 1A charge current.

great charger, I've had it for about a month, paid a bit more than this from banggood and I thought that was a good buy. its a bit slower than my other chargers but that's better for the batteries. with it being a USB lead you can use it with a power pack or car adapter.

Paid £18 for one of these end of feb this year on amazon. been almost constantly charging mine and the missus vape batteries ever since without a hitch. Cant fault it

I have one, the display shows the charge applied but doesn't seem useful.
The charge will vary and never reaches the charge as advertised on the battery. As I understand it this is the way it is supposed to be for this price point.

Regardless it does charge well but slowly.

I do have other chargers including a nitecore but this one is the one I use most.

if your talking about mah, it tells you how much you put into it, therefore if its only used a bit you can't put a lot in, also a lot of 18650 batteries are massively exaggerated on the capacity.

I purchased this from Amazon
it charges well, however be warned that this unit does not discharge and therefore you may not wish to charge nicads that aren't discharged.
also total charge current is 2 amps.
if you charge 4x 18650 then they will charge at 0.5a.
other than that it's a great charger.

normal considerations around fake items from gearbest and the rest apply.

I ran down 2 LG 3000maH batteries earlier

The final charge into them was around 2700 ish maH

This charger only puts in what is needed to fully charge the battery

ie a half dead battery it will put in 1250maH

Apparently it can revive dead batteries as well

certainly can, had cpl of ncr18650b, other chargers I had didn't want to know. Bought the vcr2, after about 5 minutes in charger, they started charging. How long they last for is another matter.

Used one for over a year, best charger ever for 18650s, I use it fairly often for nimh too.

For those that didn't read the manual, if you put two batteries in the outer two slots it'll charge at twice the rate (1A) with the other two slots empty,

Need a new charger. Old one has just this week kicked the bucket. Cheers!

Have eyed these up a few times, may bite the bullet.

You should be glad it doesn't! Batteries would be very unsafe and unstable if they fully depleted all their charge and charged to their max capacity.

The idea is to see how much charge the batteries can except; over time some batteries become duds and need to be thrown away; this kind of charger allows you to more easliy identify such batteries. Remember the figures stated on batteries are often not reached even when brand new and even new batteries will vary slightly on the charge they can accept / hold.

great charger but the xtar dragon vp4 plus looks amazing loads more money though
#16
will this look after eneloops ok or are there better options out there at this price point?

Not any more Authentic XTAR DRAGON VP4 Plus 4-Slot Battery Charger (EU).

Got a VC4 but am on the look out for a new charger as I want to charge PP3 bats, shame the dragon won't.

Anybody got suggestions for a safe charger for li-ion PP3s, I'm covered for the other sizes I need.

But not from gearbest.

The VC4 is only £16.41 at fasttech. They may do a 10% off site wide voucher soon as they did last year.

Good charger - particularly at that price. Best price on eBay £17.79 at the moment.

Are they likely to be genuine? A lot of fakes about.

For what it's worth, I ordered a couple and took a chance at that price. I know it's a really good charger, so the only risks were Gearbest and fakes.

Pleased to say that the first one's arrived, complete with the anti-counterfeit security label. I've checked it on the Xtar site, and it's genuine.

First rate speed and service from Gearbest - and that was with the free delivery option too. Thanks OP. :)
