I know it's only (naughty) advertising, but don't expect to see grill marks on your sausages! (see pic) - it's not a 'BBQ' (ebay listing), but rather a 'teppanyaki grill' (official AJW website)

Where are these cheaper deals you speak of? At least put proof before voting cold.

It's not really a barbeque with out the smoky taste (burnt) outer cooked meat or veg. Thou slightly under cook to raw, running the risk of food poison. This is just an over sized out door electric grill for Christ sake Save your self some money, and just drag your cooker outside and save your self something else you don't need.

COLD, as this will stink your house out and gets into your curtains, sofa, upholstery. AVOID..

I have a smaller version of this, and I can tell it's one of the most used product in my kitchen ! You can cook anything on it fairly quickly, nothing will stick on it. Easy to clean ( not sure about it in this size? ) and works fine in the last 2+ years.

strange size.
I have a more normal ~29x47cm one and use it for preheat and under heating of PCBs before reflow rework.
If it wasn't for the fact food for 1 is easier in a pan or microwave I'd get one for food too.
#13
Do you use oil on it or just dry and it uses the fat from the meat?
#14
According to camelcamelcamel its been this price since November last year, and prior to that £35. So make what you will of the £110 "was" price mark...
#15
perfect less than 33 quid and one very happy husband. thanks

This is hot. Otherwise the food wouldn't cook. Looks lots of fun.

£23.99 inc del on ebay

Just bought one of these from eBay, thanks to the Op for the introduction and to cainer for eBay advice. :)

We have this grill in a smaller version and use it in the garden when I can't be bothered with or don't want to wait for the bbq. You don't need oil, nothing sticks. In fact, you have to make sure it's level on a table as the food will slide downhill if you're not careful.

If you can bbq food properly, then you can use this no problem. What you don't get is the smoky taste, what you do get is ease of use, speed of startup and cool down and no smoke in your eyes. Wouldn't use it inside unless under the extractor hood. :)

I always use it dry, even with bacon. It gets so hot that water just skitters around in little balls. I've used it a fair few times but it is a faff to unbox it all and put it all away so make sure you really have a need for it. Mega easy to clean, though.

I've got the smaller version that's clearly made in the same place as this one that they sell in Aldi's for £20 a couple of times a year.

Nope £29.99 ebay. :( The £23.99 one didn't show in my search. Must have been because I copied and pasted everything, including Andrew James. Never mind, sick squid won't break me ;)
#29
'Vonshef xxl grill' search on eBay will list a £23.99 one first.

Thanks OP
Bought through eBay but it was this post that brought my attention to it.

I have the small one...
its OK, but when it stops heating, it cools down a bit before coming back on, bit of a pain that ! :(
But not a bad grill, good for doing burgers on !
#33
Mine came today from eBay. Lots of grill for not much money.

Do folks have any recipe ideas? Well apart from English breakfast.
#35

not much cheaper, people here arnt paying the ~£38 in the title, they've read the thread and are buying them for £23.99 delivered from ebay ;)
#36
I ordered the one at £32 from the Andrew James website before I seen the eBay one was posted but you get a 2 year warranty so for an extra £8 I'm not too fussed. Thanks OP
#37
Bought the Ebay one, cooked 2.5kg of bacon for bacon sarnies for 25 people perfectly, done in 20 minutes and everyone fed before we boarded the bus, easy to clean and now everyone wants one. Have not cooked a full breakfast but no hesitation and looking forward to using on our next camping trip or if the weather is good, cook breakfast in the garden at the weekend! This will be used a lot. Hot :-)
