I was in the market for a quality camera, whilst doing my research, I stumbled up a British company, Y-Cam, giving Google's Nest Cam some serious competition - http://www.appcessories.co.uk/nest-cam-vs-homemonitor-the-best-smart-security-camera

The main feature that made me buy the Evo was their offering of 7 days free cloud storage, everything else was pretty similar between the two, and considering that Y-cam have been trading for quite some time, I took a punt and feel kinda smug for going so - a quality product

I know there are cheaper options out there, but I was in the market for something I can watch on my phone, was easy to setup, and just works - even on my roku!

So what happens when the 1 week's free storage has passed? Doesn't seem much of an incentive to me.

All the kit on that website looks massively overpriced.

I mean, whould pay £10 for a 5 metre power extension cable?

this is a massively overpriced piece of kit, ycam are sort of the apple of their market, and they really are not worth the premium. I would imagine you can still connect it to a nvr to store images, or you pay for more cloud storage.

after 7 days, the old recording disapear and it continues to record, luckily i didn't need an extension, and if i did, I'd buy it elsewhere

a decent alternative is ucam247

Great piece of kit, e-mail when it detects a motion. Can save or download the footage, 7 days storage is enough as its on a constant roll.

it doesn't provide free cloud storage :(

It does for a rolling 7 days. You can download any recordings in that period also has the liveview feature which can be recorded via your phone, tablet or pc.
