Yakuza 3: Special Edition PS3 £17.95 Delivered @ Zavvi

Kazuma and Haruka, having severed their ties to the Yakuza world, have left Kamurocho to seek a new life in Okinawa where they manage an orphanage for children. However, their peaceful life is soon interrupted when a series of events unfold pulling Kazuma back into the shadowy past he thought he had left behind, in order to protect those he loves.

Making its first appearance exclusively on PS3, the rich story and vibrant world of Yakuza 3 lets players engage in intense brutal clashes within the streets of Okinawa, and the vibrant and often dangerous city of Tokyo where only the strongest will survive.

Tokyo and Okinawa are rendered with stunning accuracy
Play a variety of minigames including billiards, karaoke or even take in a game of golf
Engage in a variety of real-life activities from buying items in licensed shops and businesses to eating in restaurants you can find on actual streets of Tokyo
Seamlessly transition into intense fights more brutal than ever before
Gain fighting experience by training with teachers, getting "heavenly inspiration" or by remembering new moves from previous battles
Includes 4 pieces of DLC!

1. Battle for Survival Take on all the bosses of Yakuza 3 as Kazuma
2. All-Star Tournament (7 character tournament)
3. All-Star Tag Tournament (8 team tournament)
4. Harukas Request - This unique series of challenge missions will send you on a task of exploration throughout the entire Yakuza world, playing mini-games and entertaining Haruka

Gah. beat me to it! I guess I shouldn't leave it for a few minutes after getting the e-mail... I don't have a PS3 but read a review of this the other day and it sounds brilliant!
#2
Heat added, very interesting price for a positively reviewed game.
For those who love trophies this might be considered one of those well deserved Platinum trophies in regards to the amount of time you put into the game.
#3
Wow great price, good game. Heated! but i rekon this is going to drop even more.
#4
The demo probably put a few people off. Good price.
#5
Added heat, cheapest I've seen yet, for an amazing game that's only about a month old it's a must-buy.
#6
Thanks ordered.
#7
Thanks! That's Dante Inferno, Yakuza 3 and Mass Effect 2 Ordered today :S
#8
Send back Dante's Inferno then :D
#9
If I've not got FF13 to play and SSF4 pre ordered and Blazblue in the post, I would have ordered this. Good price heat added
#10
I hated the demo...maybe just not my thing...Heat added for deal though

Lol to those who bought it a couple of weeks back.
#12
The demo is rock hard compared to the game, it's taken from about 70% through.
#13
Sweet :O)

Just bought this from Zavvi for £23,94 two weeks ago. Goes to show how fast prices drop on games nowadays, oh well, heat added
#15

Yeah it did put me off.I was quite interested before I played that. It seemed quite shoddy.
#17
I just watched the demo on" you tube" kinda reminded me of a Shenmue / GTA hybred !

Am i off the ball with that assumption?

No that's pretty much on the money.

The demo was off putting to me too but I still think there's a solid game in there somewhere coz the previous 2 were pretty kick ass. General consensus is the demo was a poor example of what the game offers.
#19
I agree with the consensus that the demo was a bag of **** but as I absolutely love Shenmue I'm prepared to give the full game a good whack, especially at under 20 quid

Anyone know if it comes with the soundtrack CD as with the edition on shopto's website? No mention of it in Zavvi's description.

Heated regardless.
#20
Excellent cheers for this =)...
#21
Brilliant. Had a £1 off voucher as well. Nearly was one of those who bought as £22.85, glad I held off :)

It was a bag of $£"% because it was too hard for you or was it another reason?
#23
I thought I enjoyed the demo though although the map could have been displayed in a better way...

click on the 2 images then zoom into the 2nd it shows soundtrack and is listed as special edition although that title means nothing as in UK/EU that is standard release

No need to get aggressive! Actually, I walked into the bar, beat up a few people with some very questionable collision detection and questionable moves (animation of character during fights was a bit iffy)...

The language in the game was over the top, expletives were put in un-realistc places, bumping into other characters actually made me laugh...

It just didn't feel comfortable in any way to play...sorry if I offend, but just not my thing...I did give heat for the deal though!
#27
The cheapest I've ever seen the game, and amazing value considering how much content is in the game.

Ordered right away, thanks for posting this. ^^
#28
Great game, I paid full price and don't regret at all.

I reccomend to anybody who wants a break from stupid fps war games.
#29
loved the first two, ordered!

I was quoting the person who said 'I agree with the consensus that the demo was a bag of **** ' no aggression to you or anyone meant.
#31
is this with english audio or is it all subtitles
#32
All subtitled. Which is a good thing if you heard the all star english cast of Yakuza 1. You can fastforward or skip cutscenes if you really can't stand reading subtitles.

You can change the map display settings in the options so it stays fixed or whatever you feel comfortable with.
Nearly ordered it from Coolshop earlier, but glad this deal popped up. Absolute bargain at £18.

Cool. Thanks for the tip, wasn't aware of that

I can actually get it for £15.99 (using £4 off £40 voucher) if I order it with SSF4 from Zavvi. I've already cancelled SSF4 pre-order once and reordered (wanted to go through TopCashBack) so abit worried that it might mess up the purchase. :(

Oh well, then again, have too many games at the moment as well.

It's definitely a good game and I heard one of the best game to platinum too. My bro platinum-ed it and did say it's a very good game with lots of mini games to play.
#35
Thanks, ordered!
#36
ordered

voted hot

cheers

burning hots
#38
Was gonna order last week at the higher price.

Couldn't resist at £17.99.
#39
Auh i dont know what to do, to buy or not to buy?

oh feck it, ordered!

Id give anything for the slightest of Shenmue hits again! I loved Shenmue one and Two they were extremely happy gaming times!

I would dig out the old dreamcast and play both again, but it could ruin the memory like setting up my old N64 and playing Goldeneye did, with the exception of SNES mario Kart somethings are better just left in the visual memory bank!
