Insore only, saw that they had dropped the already low price of £79.99 down to £50 in their advert in the Daily Mail this morning!!! This kit sel;ls for up to £175 in other shops and you would pay almost £50 elsewhere for just the 2 PIR sensors.

We bought a couple of kits last month and you can conbine them and use 2 sirens and 2 keypads which is great too :)

Pet friendly ?

Unless you have a monkey that might climb up the outside wall and rip the bell off you should be ok :-D

I think they might mean the sensors ie will they ignore the cat when switched on.......

Indeedy :)

This is from the Yale website. In other words No...

2. Do pets affect the system and if so is a pet detector available?

Pets do affect the system unless the PIRs are masked or pet friendly. We recommend you use magnetic door contacts to protect the building in areas where animals may be moving.

I have a similar Yale alarm and think their great. Never had a false alarm in 2 years, never had to replace any batteries yet either.

If they have some for £50 and yours is unopened take yours back for a refund then go and pick one of the shelf and pay £50 for it....

Or if you have opened it. Buy one for £50 and then take it back with the £79 receipt for a refund saying you decided not to use the alarm....

Is this the one? (found on [email protected])

All Yale Wirefree Alarm kits are expandable with up to 20 accessories to allow you to customise your system to suit with either additional protection or enhanced contols.

With additional door/window contacts, PIRs you can adapt the kit to ensure maximum protection against intruder or expand your system with smoke detectors for early warnings against fire. Alternatively, why not expand your system to make it even more convenient to use with key fobs and pads. An additional keypad in the master bedroom wllows you to easily part set the system at night.

Went into B&Q but the PIRs are back up at £69. But thanks anyway.

Wouldn't it be cheaper (if possible) to just buy another set to get an extra two pirs and door sensors?

B&Q at Durham had the PIR expansion pack for £9.99 on special about 3 weeks ago, dont know if ther'e still doing them as Hartlepool did not have them in last week. But on saying that the Durham stor is a bigger store and it may only be stocked in bigger stores

Downside of this kit is that you cannot set up HOME areas. Therefore you cant really arm it whilst in the house e.g. at night. Only way to be able to do this is to have the PIRs in areas you would not walk into at night...if this makes sense. Makes it a little less flexible than more expensive versions.

Just got back from B & Q. Picked up Yale Alarm for £50 and a pack of 3 PIRs for only £19.98, well chuffed. So pricing may be localised depending on which B & Q you go to?. I went to Havant, Hampshire

going to get me one of these 2morrow :) was going to buy it at £79

It the same everywhere IIRC. I can tell you all one thing, they were selling like hot cakes over the weekends. It's a shame they won't let us buy one with staff discount which would make it a brilliant deal!

none in my B&Q :(

still some in Hartlepool if anyone is still after one
