Absolutely gutted to see this so cheap - i bought it a few weeks ago at Homebase for £167 which I thought was very good given original RRP of around £299.

Setting this up is fairly straightforward - it's all wireless so no messing about. You can even set it to call you when activated - which can save you £100's a year on so called 'maintenance contracts' you usually get.

* 1 siren box with flashing LED.

* 1 telecommunicating control panel, to set and unset alarm.

* 2 PIR movement detectors.

* 2 door/window contacts.

* 1 dummy siren box.

* Batteries and fixings included.

* Fitting and user manual.

* Protect your home and 2 entry/exit points or windows.

* Completely wire free, no mess.

* Length of exit/entry period can be altered.

* Add up to 20 devices to personalise the system.

* Works with other Yale alarm accessories.

* The control panel stores up to 3 phone numbers and alerts you by Telephone should the alarm be activated.

* Can also be activated and deactivated by your touch tone phone.

The following are still available in the Manchester area:

Ashton: The Arcades 1 left
Stockport: Mersey Square 1 left
Wythenshaw: 1 left

If possible could people do the same as I've done, this will make it easy for other to see if these are still available.

Cheers

I had one of these but with all the wireless technology around the alarm would just start sounding anytime it wanted to. We tried to reset the system and replaced all the batteries but in the end had to deactivate it...at least the neighbours were pleased.

its really about where you choose to place the sensors and main control. the yale helpline is good at explaining these things if there are issues.

I just bought one of these a few weeks ago. Great piece of kit.
If you want any extra pir's or door contacts there's a bloke on ebay selling them cheap.
I shopped around for extra's and he was the cheapest (look for david_notts)
I have nothing to do with the guy, just wanted to give someone a helping hand.

THANK YOU, so so much.

Been looking for one of these for ages. Screwfix and Homebase have had the "family" one for £85 - £100 but it didn't have the telecommunicating function I wanted.

This one does plus has the dummy siren box too.... FANTASTIC. Thank you.

I put one of these up Lasy year when B&Q had them on offer, Great piece of kit never had a problem with it Voted Hot from Me
#27
I have a similar wireless alarm but its a Friedland Response one. Only problem I have ever had is when the PIR receivers are low on battery and they send out some signal which interferes with my car key fob. The central locking will only work if you get close to the car. Replace the battery in the PIR in the house and the cars central locking works fine.

I know for certain that one doesn't have the telecommunicating control panel... obviously depends if you need that feature.

Also doesn't specifically state it is wireless as far as I can see.... not saying it isn't, but something to consider.

True and True ... I just noticed it on the same page, it's not anything like as good a deal :)

Still some good stock around... be quick though.

Anyone know how often the batteries need replacing? I assume it gives you some sort of signal when its time?

BTW heat and rep to the OP.

Looking at the reviews on Argos it has 15 reviews and scores 4.7 out of 5. Even the people who gave it 4 out of 5 didn't really justify knocking the extra point off except to say "the setup process was quite lengthy" and "it took 3 hours to set up".
