Small in size but big in sound, the Yamaha PDX31 is an impressive dock.
With its shelf friendly size and subtle styling, the PDX-31 blends in with your interior decor rather than standing out. This is further helped by fabric speaker panels and a choice of colour - black or light grey.
Dock your iPod or iPhone, though, and the effect is anything but subdued. With a digital amplifier onboard, the Yamaha PDX31 offers a powerful sound that can easily fill a room with detailed, rich sound. The speaker system with bass reflex port helps boost the rich bass still further.
Like many other docks, the PDX-31 comes with an AUX input via stereo mini-jack. Unlike other docks, however, this Yamaha allows you to Auto Blend the two sources. You could, for example, listen to a voice recording from one source with music from another!
As well as sounding great, the PDX31 is easy to use. There's no power button or source control, simply dock in your iPod or iPhone and away you go: even the volume is automatically set at its last setting. Should you turn up the volume too loudly, then an auto protection device decreases it to protect the speaker from sudden bursts of loud music. Finally, a handy remote control has an intuitive feel and controls the main functions of your iPod or iPhone.
