Isn't the yamaha 1073 better and it was on clearance from £1000 down to £450 when I bought it 9 months ago. Might be in your range now.

this yammy model is more comparable with the Sony STR-DN1050
deffo the yammy over the Sony STR-DN850

This is Hot UK Deals, not the Hot UK Advice centre. I'm sure there are more appropriate forums to ask advice on

Just got one as a replacement for my 675 which went bang. Love as the sound is great, has zone 2 and I can control it from my iPad which my friends think is great. Internet radio, NAS playback, linked to my Sky box. Great fun.

making ill informed purchases will only make you the fool. its good members impart advice from their respective experience to add value of the product on offer. its not just about the saving its a deal site after all.

But there are other forums on here he could ask questions on and dedicated AV forums elsewhere on the Internet that are much more appropriate. If everyone posted questions or requested advice in this section the site would be full of spam

This is 2014, anyone that can use the Internet can easily find those resources. It appears that the OP joined HUKD yesterday solely to ask advice about this item. He's not even dressing it up as a deal but is asking for advice on the difference between two different makes of reciever! A 5 second Google search shows loads of dedicated forums where this item is already discussed and he could easily have found these places

I've had a Sony 5.1 AV Receiver for almost 13 years,and it still sounds great.No HDMI,obviously,but it's lasted ages.
