If anyone's got any alternatives I'd be grateful to hear them. I'm in the market for decent sub £400. Got to be able to support 110kgs (for the missus of course :whistling:) Got one a few years ago for £600 refurb, conked out after a few months out of waranty, will be going for breakdown cover this time.

My dad and I have been looking for a good treadmill for a while and have decided on a ProForm Quick Start 9.0 Foldable Treadmill from John Lewis at £699 with three years guarantee included from JL. Very positive reviews, getting mine delivered on Tuesday and it can take up to 130kg. Roger black and York Aspire from Argos has got very poor reviews from other sites stating that the motor usually dies just outside warranty, hence what put me off from buying them.

Thanks for the reply chris_karu. The ProForm looks ok but a bit out of my price range. I intend to get one with a warranty of at least 4 years so that it costs 100-120 per year - if it breaks down afterwards thats not too bad. The York Aspire is top of my list. Would buy it now but having trouble logging in to Argos.

Don't waste your money on these 'sub £400' models.
If you know a costco member you can get a Proform 780 zlt for £517 which 'retails' at £1500 plus (although cheaper elsewhwere) still not as cheap as costco
