Total = 20kgs?

Doesnt really seem worth it.

If it was in 2 x 10kgs then maybe it would have been good to add to the weight collection, but this is kinda bad.

Do you mean 2 x 10kg plates? Because this is 2 x 10kg DB.

I have these, theyre a good solid set for starting off.

Good for more than starting off, depending on what your goal is
#11
I got these when they were on here before, sure they were cheaper.
#12
Got these when they were at £20 but they are a great starting set for anyone
#13
Decent price so voted hot, but that weight is a complete waste of time for doing anything other than say front or lateral raises. I'm a weed and when doing sets I curl 22.5kg on each of the bells, never mind 20Kg total...

Edited By: imnufc2k on Jan 23, 2011 20:14: because I felt like it...

20kg!
Surely with today's technology they could make them lighter using carbon fibre or something?
#15
for those of you saying these are a waste of time, could you point me in the right direction for something better?

cheers.

Hot thanks

I have this set; they are decent no frills kit. For the price (including delivery) you can't complain. If you want something nicer, then it'll cost a lot more.

I have a much better quality set in Australia, but these do the same job. You might want to wear gloves when you use them depending on what work you do, as they are 'scratchy' and take some adjusting.
#20
These are a bit light. Bargain for girls and weaklings ;-)
#21
eh?
#22
Probably costs them nearly £25 to post that weight

Worth it for the 2 14" spinlock bars alone. That's £25 added the the amount you've made me spend, Mr Wedge.

I wonder how many more people are going to say these are too light. This is a good deal, not a chance to show how virile you all are.

I ordered a set as I'm as pretty weak. .

Just bought the EA sports active 2 on PS3, is this good to go with the game?
Have to admit this site cost me too much 8)

A good deal, though I bought them slightly cheaper last year when they were on offer at various places.

Don't listen to the posers on here, they might be able to lift heavy weights but probably have a small tackle due to roidz :p

The bars are a bit rough n scratchy, but they are beautifully smoothed out when I wear my leather driving gloves to use them X)

Put some cling film on the bars, it saves having to wear gloves.

Please get over yourself - it is simply true that a 10Kg weight is not enough for most exercises if you would actually want to build muscle... Most of your main muscle groups would deal with more than that just doing general work in your daily life (Carrying boxes or shopping about etc...). If you maybe wanted to use them in a more athletic manner simply to tone rather than build any strength (i.e. just doing lots of reps) then you may just about be ok with these, at a push.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend these without gloves or some sort of cover, they will take the skin off otherwise...

Oh. Well I guess they would be good for rehabilitation stuff, but otherwise, kinda useless.

Just do each arm seperately.

Does anyone know if the weights are generally interchangable?

I bought those Tesco ones a few weeks back : http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-8600.aspx 17kg for £18.66

Can I just buy any old iron weights and pop them on?
#32
Stick as much weight as you can on one bar,say 18kg and its perfect for biceps curls.

Good price for these weights!

Yes i think the iron weights require a whole of 1" in Diameter to be the perfect fit.

give the man a medal....you must be those stuborn weeds that just wont go :)

I agree they are ideal for start off kit. Couple these with say 50kg barbell weights and a ez bar and you got yourself a great start off kit.
