In the terms and conditions it states that the travel voucher must be taken on the journey with you! Our local newspaper had this offer and you had to collect three tokens to validate your ticket, which you must show when you present your ticket on the train. Did your email mention any of this?

What they dont mention is the extra £1 booking fee and 50p charge to debit cards (or £1 on credit cards)!!!
Still a good price..... there are some good deals anyway since they started running the east coast line. I got Doncaster to Newcastle for £13 the other week (the day before travel).

Since when have NXEC added charges for CC use and a booking fee?

The only company I know that does that is thetrainline

Wonder whether we'll get any decent London>Newcastle offers for the August bank holiday?

Still not sure how you get London to York for £8 each way - if I pre-book my tickets it costs £39 does the ticket collector hand me £23 in used fivers when I show my voucher?
