YOUNGS Chip Shop 4xLarge Fish Fillets 500g @Sainsburys reduced to £0.99
Couldn't find it on Sainsbury site so I suspect they are getting rid of old Stock, but at Norwich Longwater Sainsbury , they had these Fish fillets reduced to £0.99, I got the detail from Tesco to show the product, but deal at Sainsbury .. Not exactly a scorcher, but £3 for a £1 is not to be sniffed at :)

Fish is brilliant
We love it, and we want Britain to love it too. As the country's biggest fish expert, we bring people more ways to enjoy fish more often. By freezing our fish we lock in the taste and nutrition. It's nature's way of preserving.

But then they were frozen, and I havent eaten 'em yet ;)
but we were so sceptical of the price we put them through the till first to watch it like a hawk... I thought they were more than £3 from memory, but Tesco has them @£2.96 so I guess my memory is playing tricks... July 2012 date too so nothing 'Fishy' there either... Ho Hum , More for my Tum..
To be honest, 99p is a fair price.
Not a patch on Haddock or Cod if you like those.

PHOSPHATES = Phosphatemia..
I have stopped buying coated fish because of this. If you examine this offer closely, there are four fish, total weight 500g, so 125g per fish, then look at the ingredients list and only 52% is fish, so each portion contains about 63g of fish, with that fish being either pollock, basa or hoki, so not even the best quality fish. At 99p it is a reasonable price, but don't expect anything like chip shop fish.
Regarding the type of fish, We're lucky here in Norfolk in that we generally have Cod'n'Plaice from the chippy with Skate and Haddock ordered as you enter, but when out and about elsewhere I've often found the "fish" was the standard order with Haddock etc special ordered... the 'fish' being whatever happened to be local at the time .... but seen Hoki offered a few times and I didn't mind it tbh..
Pleasantly surprised actually...
..
But what were the fish like? :D

Thats NOT what it said here, and I have the reciept here too, but I can't believe I need it for Fish Fillets :p
we put them through first so that we could watch the till display to be certain :)
It does actually say "Omega Fish Fillets" £0.99 on the receipt, but they were the ones pictured.
I couldn't find them in our City centre store to coroborate a couple of days later, but they were indeed £3.96 original price.... I just figured I'd got it wrong , when the tesco site said £2.96...
Sorry you couldn't get them at the same bargain price :(
