Product Description
The Y-shaped Zalman CNPS5X Performa CPU cooler has a full 170 watt TDP despite its compact size. In combination with the enclosed thermal paste ZM-STG2M, this is even sufficient for the Intel i7 quad-core CPUs. Thanks to its copper cooling element and the three U-shaped 8 mm heat pipes, the heat reaches the aluminium slats quickly, through which the air is carried away by a directly adjacent, quiet 92 mm cooler. As long as the Mainboard PWM is capable, it automatically adjusts its rotating speed to the CPU temperature. The backplate with the push pins guarantees easy installation. The CNPS5X Performa is not oversized thanks to its carefully thought-out construction and therefore fits into a relatively narrow case.

Worth paying the extra £4 for the CNPS10X which is far better.
When it says am3, does this include am3+? I've noticed the compatibility of most coolers I've looked at don't mention am3+. This could likely be a dumb question.

Not a dumb question at all, the bracket bosses on the motherboard have not changed so it will be compatible. Still would recommend the CNPS10X over this if you have the case room for it.
Thanks! I don't need the cooler just now but in a couple of weeks time I hope to be buying it alongside a cpu too.
May as well go the extra and get the 212 evo
I had this exact cpu cooler and trust me IT IS NOT ULTRA QUIET!! I really recommend the arctic cooler freezer 7 pro rev 2 as it has the same cooling but has a much much quieter fan
This is very quiet in my server. Heat added.
