Spotted in Tesco @ Kingston Park. Have been getting stock in as just picked one up so worth ringing around and seeing if your local Tesco Extra has one in.

Was £229, Now £169 - Save £60

Product Description

The Zanussi ZWF1421W washing machine can take a 6kg wash-load so you can wash larger loads less often, saving time, detergent and energy. Zanussi's Aquacycle technology ensures a good performance while saving water as specially designed lifters cascade the wash water through the load. Among the many wash programmes, there's an easy iron option to minimise creasing and reduce your ironing time.

The Zanussi ZWF1421 washing machine has A-rated energy and wash performance and its 15 wash programmes can take care of a 6kg load with 1200rpm spin speeds. Its easy to use - simply select the fabric type, press 'start' and leave the machine to select the best programme. With half load, easy iron, quick and hand wash options selectable from an easy-read push button fascia with 2 rotary controls.

The Zanussi ZWF1421's extra large porthole (30cm in diameter) makes loading or unloading far easier, and the sequence indicator tells you the current status of the machine. You'll also appreciate the 4 stage delay start option which allows you to run your wash when it's most convenient. This means you can now manage the noise level in your kitchen and make the most of cheap-rate electricity when available.

Zanussi washing machine tubs are constructed from HiCarboran, a unique and hard-wearing polymer-based material which reduces wear and tear, and cuts down on noise and vibration.

great price for a good machine- hot

Damnit just spent £249 on the 1200 spin version ! (ZWF12070W/1)

If it is available nationwide then looks like a very good deal, our last machine was a Zanussi and it lasted 9 years - had the pump changed last year for £79 and thats all the extra we spent on it - and the repairman that came out to condemn it reccomended to go for another Zanussi, so we did.
#3
Gr8 price. Last Zanussi lasted me over 15 years. H and rep
#4
Just a shame I replaced my washing machine last year. The one before that was a Zanussi which I got second hand and it still lasted me 10 years.
#5
This appears to be a very good deal for a Zanussi branded machine...generally a very reliable brand!!!
#6
I have this exact same machine and can vouch it is a very good one.
#7
I've got the 1600rpm model, great machine & gets the clothes quite dry out of the drum.
#8

good deal, but getting it home may be a problem for me, heat added though

We've got a similar 1600rpm 6kg model from Zanussi. On at least 3 times a week and still going strong after 5 years. The extra load capacity is very useful. Great price!
#14
Don't know if this still stands but when I bought our machine a few years ago, I researched heavily and found that if you can't get a Bosch or a Miele machine (both can generally be very expensive), then the next best thing is to go for either a Zanussi, Electrolux or Tricity Bendix machine as all are made by the same company to the same (good) build quality.

Also, £170 is a fantastic price for a branded Zanussi machine!! Hot!!!

Could well be true, I had a zanussi last and no issues, I went for a hotpoint this time as the hubby wanted the one that looks like a sapceship. It's burnt out in 8 weeks!

Hotpoint and a raft of others i.e. pretty much every other make on the market other than those I already mentioned, are all made by the same company (Merloni I think?) and as such in many cases will be the same machine with a different shell/name on the front.

From what I read previously, build quality on these machines is never all that great, and repairs are usually uneconomical but to be honest I'm speaking in broad terms and someone may well correct me!!!

That's not the fault of the machine, it is due to poor fabrics being used in the production of your jumper. If it is that bad, take it back to the store that you bought the jumper from.

Unless April 1st has come around again there's a HUGE clue in the words "dry clean only":whistling:

Anyone else seen this in their stores. Ours broke down 3 weeks ago and I have been looking around for a decent machine.

If anyone spots one of these in their local, PLEASE post where!

poor fabrics?! i beg your pardon...this jumper was 40% viscose, 40% nylon, 20% lycra. Authentic Raul Lauren too. THese washing machines should really be able to be flexible in coping with such products without damaging quality

BadBadger, is it any surprise it shrank as you yourself stated (and LadyLuck reminded you) that your garment was "dry clean only"?

Get a grip, there are special chemicals and processes involved in dry cleaning that don't take place in a domestic washing machine, that's why it say DRY CLEAN ONLY.

Anyway touch wood, I've had a Zanussi washing machine for over 8 years now still going strong, great value!!
#26
Cheap washing machines are the way forward. They are practical itentical to top of the range models, coming off of the same production line but having a different control panel.

In general unless you are getting a Bosch/AEG/Miele then it is best to get as cheap as you can find and buy the 5 year warranty.

My inlaws always extol the virtues of Miele's being designed to last 10 years. Big deal, if you can get something that it 1/5 of the price (including a long warranty) you're getting a far better deal.

In the old days before Health and Safety 'Natural Selection' would have taken care of people like this who put dry clean only items in washing machines and then complain.
They would have seen a steam hammer and thought ' I wonder what happens if I put my head in there?' and been killed. Now with health and safety everywhere there is no way left for the stupid to kill themselves and hence the genepool is getting more stupid.

If my Beko wasnt still going strong I would have this, can also get 10% staff discount making it £152 for Tesco employees :D

Not a bad price for 2 or 3 years trouble free usage.

I know what you mean...I put some washing powder (famous brand stuff) in the detergents tray and the blooming machine used it all...:whistling:

Just spoke with Tesco customer services (0800 505555) and they state the price is £292 and nowhere locally have stock nor any idea of the offering. Good price if you can find one

Bad Badger, dry clean only- You should have turned off the water supply to the machine first, then added a bit more detergent to make up for the lack of water. These machines are great, we have had one for 3 years now. I even let the wife use it, and if she cant break it then no one can.

Voted HOT! Just picked up the last one in Tesco North Harbour (Portsmouth). The woman at the door said she'd never seen so many washing machines being sold in one day! Great machine even better price! Thanks!

It's hard to say if this offer is nationwide or not. Appears to be selected stores only so far, glad gcsouth managed to grab one :) I don't think they quite realise the demand at this price, it's an absolute bargain especially as it's cheaper than most budget brands.

I'd keep trying with your local extra store because if they do stock it, they might get some in on a delivery before the offer finishes on the 21st. Perhaps leave your name and number so they can get in touch, saves ringing up every day. Good luck!

Funny you should mention the Aqualtis, its the model I replaced my Zanussi with. I got my model second hand, as I couldn't find another Zanussi in the store. Its a good machine apart from the noise it makes when spinning, I've had to turn the RPM down from 1400 to 800 as it sounds like a pneumatic drill when spinning. Its a little quieter now, but seems to get louder every time I use it.
#39
I went to a number of stores and it was not there :-(
#40
There are still 4 more days left before the offer ends. Can a moderator please unexpire this deal? :)
