Wonder if they'll be next to shut?

I would visit Zacci but I can't be bothered going into town to ask the staff in Zavvi where Zacci is... :(

Sorry for the sarcasm :P Thanks for letting us know! Might have been posted already, and I would search, but I really should get back to work!

lol, thanks for noticing
changed

They're not taking orders online and so prices are not being displayed either :santa:

yep-cant see any prices either-the stuff on their online clearance seems to be the same stuff hmv are doing-laurel and hardy box/friends box etc so the question is-are they cheaper now than the 49 quid they are everywhere or is the "zavvi clearance" just the same old deal?

Since EUK went with woolworths they don't have online stock. Or much stock at all.

I would get rid of any Xmas gift vouchers quickly. I'm a doom-monger. And I like it.

it's 'have' not 'of'
#10
ohh i see.
i cant be bothered barging through crowds in town to go to zavvi.
hopefully someone might get a deal from this "sale"
#11
I think the last few posts have missed the point. We are not interested in buying online but making a decision to go to my local zavvi to buy something for an unknown price isn't going to happen. Tehy need to put the instore price on the listing at least.

But then they look uncompetitive to the online market. They want to rebuild the business in the new year, instore prices are generally slaughtered by the likes of Play. I know what you are saying, but the only solution would be to put an 'instore sale' section on the website. Management aren't that clever....and lots of stock clearance are just a few units per store..people get disappointed..

But why put stuff on there at all then? All they have now is a sale link that leads you to a random selection of stuff with no prices on. It's a bit bonkers.

ps3 reduced from 299 - 269
xbox elite reduced to 190 i believe.

Sorry about text font, etc. Typing on new nokia E71!

I spoke to them yesterday, and they are reducing the L&H Boxset to £39, along with reductions on other boxsets, possibly reducing Friends from £50, all the 3 for £20 DVD's will be between £2-£4 each, all other boxsets reduced, no blu-ray reductions though!

Probably won't get a chance to go though. :-(

good info-if the laurel and hardy box is 39 quid Im there!surely cant get lower than that?

So you know folks, there are a few good prices in store, so I would recommend checking it out if you're near one. People have been posting deals over the last while, and they are doing some cheap deals. Just have a look and see :)
#18
I believe theres a further 10% off if you pay by Virgin card too!

I went in today and can confirm they are selling the PS3 for £269.99. There was a sign in the window saying dualshock 3 pads were £29.99 but in the shop they were marked as £27.99.
I got an xbox 360 wireless pad for £22.99 as a present for someone.

Would it sicken you to know they are (or at least were) selling the Wireless Entertainment packs (Kung Fu Panda + Lego Indiana Jones + Wireless controller) for £19.99? :P

Hope you kept the receipt ;) I can picture you running back to the shop now! Recommend you do though :P Or call them first to confirm and save a trip if I'm wrong.

we have 2 zavvi's in liverpool tried both on saturday for the xbox 360 wireless bundle staff in both

shops totally not interested in helping customers :x anyway finally got on answer of someone

neither shop had the bundle and they did not no if they would be getting the bundle again

to be honest the bigger one of the 2 which has been open since October looks like it gearing up to

close stock is just spread out everywhere with no clear defined areas

But thanks to the attitude of the staff in both shops (where the f.ck do they get the staff from) they

will be getting no business from moi :santa::santa::santa:
#22
totally agree about the liverpool stores
the new one is a the same old stock scattered everywhere giving the impression of loads of stock but in reality its the same stuff just in another pile

i have to say that i found totally the opposite from the store i went to in harlequin centre in watford on sunday. doing a brilliant wii deal. £235 got you a wii with wii sports, an accessory pack with steering wheel, golf club etc etc, extra wii remote with wii play, extra nunchuck, and mario kart.

they were also very helpful
#24
Naff Store...... their idea of a sale usually equates to a 3% discount on last season items! They are a disgrace and don't deserve to be in business!
#25
They have the complete Series 1-5 Peep Show boxset marked down at £14.99 (£3 Cheaper than Play.com)

Also, I can confirm that the Laurel and Hardy boxset was marked at £39.99

Wasn't much else that grabbed my attention. There did seem to be a lot of yellow clearout stickers on the rock + pop section but probably doesnt work out cheaper than online.

This was in the Newcastle Northumberland Street Branch!!!
#26
anyone know the price of desperate housewives series 4 please?
#27
There was a queue of at least 60 people waiting to be served at the tills. Put my stuff back and vowed to buy presents in the new year.
#28
Games e.g. DMC4 360 : £12.99
360 Wireless Adapter: £44.99

DVD's that were in 5 for £30/3 for £20 are between £2.99 - £5.99 (most)
#29
assassins creed for the ps3 at 9.99 is not too bad, might have a shufty later on. lack of price information is a bit silly.
#30
Not a heck of a lot of good deals to be honest, I picked up a play and charge kit for xbox 360 for £8.99 with my tribe discount but most of the other deals can be picked up for less elsewhere.
#31
Xbox battery packs £6.99, Quick charge base unit £14.99 (Cheapest I've seen on High St)
#32
Took the quick charge kit (with battery) £14.99
and the play and charge kit (with battery) £9.99

I'm sure that's a deal

Already saw this deal, I check this site a lot
I had a look around and asked a member of staff and they didn't have any instock.

Gone into admin this morning
#35
Music, games and DVD chain Zavvi has gone into administration, Ernst & Young has announced, threatening 2,500 jobs.
The troubled chain has been badly affected by the demise of Woolworths, which forced it to stop taking new orders via its website.
It was also forced to cancel existing orders. Zavvi's main supplier is Woolworths' unit Entertainment UK.
Tea and coffee specialist Whittards and menswear chain The Officers Club also fell into administration this week.

So does this mean the stores will be selling off stock at hugely discounted prices. Could be some very good bargains there.
#37
people just need to hope they are still about after xmas - if people have bought gifts which are faulty or need to be exchanged/ refunded...
#38
Absolutely gutted for all the staff at Zavvi. I also hope all the staff at Virgin Mobile will be fine. Why couldn't they have left the announcement until after Christmas.
#39
Funnily enough they kind of dug their own hole - If their online pricing had been consistent with their in store pricing people would have been happy...
#40
Well administration doesn't yet mean they will be closing - a team of accountants will be running the business and trying to find a buyer. I agree it doesn't look good though
