This is particularly good for Blu Ray - everything is more or less marked up at £12, so £9.74 after discount is applied at the till.

Granted, not a definitive selection, but plenty there for people to get a bargain on. One of which was Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles Season One, which was included in the deal - £9.74, which is £18 at Amazon and more elsewhere too :-D

Don't know about other stores, but the Liverpool One branch has a shed load of stock to browse through, so worth a look imo, as there are many titles NOT in the various 3 for 2 offers kicking about.

anyone know if the Leeds one's still alive ?
#2
they were this price in my local store before it closed :?
#3
I'm struggling to find a list of the ones that were sold to Head - anyone else know? I would have thought all Head stores would be doing something similar to shift stock.

Wiki-pe-dia

Head Entertainment currently operates seven stores in the United Kingdom situated in Cardiff, Bristol Broadmead, Bluewater, Dundee, Leeds, Liverpool One and Manchester’s Arndale Centre, all former Zavvi outlets.[3]

I looked briefly, but thank you for being my bi-focals! I don't always trust Wiki to be 100% correct anyway :)

Picked up Shoot em up today for £9 ish as should be good on blu ray with all the action and gun play
#7
It is. I only have it on 720p, but upscaled in ffdshow, it looks fantastic!
#8
picked up hitman, forgetting sarah marshall and indy 4. cheapest I've seen hitman
#9
Yeah I saw it for £28 in HMV, so £9.74 is pretty good!

Pretty massive selection in Cardiff, went in yesterday. Fantastic deal, mainly because the fact it is Blu Ray means most are only 1 Disc anyway.

Eh? Exactly where have you been hiding? There are NO Zavvi stores left. A few were taken over by Head Entertainment or HMV but the vast majority are now shut.

mmm but a good example of the then zavvi in dundee was that 27 dresses was £24.99 with 25% off. now its down to £12.99 with 25%. plus the discs I got earlier all had £19.99 stickers under the £12.99 ones
#18
If the blu-rays are £12 each to start then this is hot for me.

Below is an example of why Zavvi went bust...

Yes, you are right, but when they were giving 25% off before, they were more often than not hiking the price of the Blu Rays back up to RRP (that is if they weren't already full-price.) Now EVERY single disc Blu Ray is £9.74, and like I said, considering most BD's are 1 Disc, there is a HUGE range in Cardiff to choose from.

I paid £12.50 for Animatrix from them when it was just 10% discount, and after the 25% discount they'd slapped a £17.99 sticker on it, meaning it cost more than before. This is a good deal, because there are an absolute ton of titles for under a tenner, and for once it's not the standard bunk ones.

It was looking a bit shocking in head at liverpool, no new stock, and empty shelves!
But now with all this ...% off thing they do you can get a right bargain.
It says in the window today that it's 20% off all games consoles from this thu?... i don't think i've ever seen games consoles with a discount before... and another sale type markdown across the shop, Be interesting to see if blu-ray drops again along with ps3.

Head have now re-opened the Sheffield - Meadowhall Zavvi store. They also have the 25% off Blu-ray discs. I don't think this is a great deal as I can find most on the web for a similar price and sometimes better as a combination. clearly, some of the stock is from closed stores and looks a bit tatty. You need to be selective and make sure that you compare to the web.

As someone recently pointed out, one can see why Zavvi closed when you look at their pricing policy.
