As of Friday the 23rd the remaining Zavvi stores are extending the instore discount. Below are the details of the majority of the changes:

50% off all Books, T-Shirts, Clothing, Posters, Board Games, Cards and Ipod Accessories.
25% off all Dvds, Blu-Ray CDs and Games.
10% off all Ipods.

New greatly reduced prices on the Wii, DS and PS3 consoles. (unfortunatly cannot confirm at the moment but PS3 is believed to be around £250).
New selection of individual items reduced before instore discount ie. Wii Play down to around £25 pound.

I'm sure some people will find some bargains left.

Taking their time reducing their items aint they :@
#2
most blu ray are £15 or more making them still over £10 each still to expensive needs to be at least 40% before its a good sale
#3
I'll be interested if/when games and dvds hit 40% or more off. At 25%, you can easily find better prices online still. Voteing hot though in thanks of the information and for high street prices you cant complain.

Honestly some people ain't happy unless they get something for nothing.

Simple fact is although in administration they don't have the debt that Woolworths had so there isn't as much desperation to sell off the stock.

On the majority of their stock their recent reduction was by 5% which on the average cd and dvd is 60p. I'm hardly wanting it for nothing.

But they're now owned by a separate company to Zavvi, so why would they still be honouring the same prices as Zavvi?
[mod]#9
It could be 50% and I still wouldnt buy their games. Before this "sale" went live they overinflated their prices. For example, in my local store they have No More Heroes and Samda De Amigo both at £40...

Considering HMV must have bought the old Zavvi stock in the deal im surprised they think they can get MORE money for it than Zavvi could considering its been sitting on the same shelves with 20% off for more than 2 weeks with no one buying it........

They have no chance of selling that stock at higher prices.......

In addition the actual new HMV stock in the store is more expensive than it is in an existing HMV store in the area which a staff member couldnt answer why when I asked her.....

I think your expecting to much of the staff member, i imagine there's some massive changes to the way they do things with little time for explanations so she probably genuinely didn't know why this was the case.

Plus any remaining stock left in the store will return to the 'range' price of HMV as obviously they don't need to sell the stock off quickly.

just to make a point hmv have not taken over all zavvi stores just 11 of them selected the so called best
#13
can you use student discount in addition to these?

No. If you can't use giftcards, student discounts are definately off the table :-(

HMV haven't necessarily bought the "best" stores - they've bought the ones that are strategically useful for the HMV/Fopp brands.

Exactly.

Although, DVDs r flying off the shelves. Blu Ray / Games are overpriced, wont be selling all these until atleast 50% off i think.
#17
Can people stop posting anything to do with Zavvi on this website! Please! I am sick of it.
#18
Minus 50, thats impressive even by the ******** standards on this site.

#20

#21

Anyone know what stores are left? I know they closed Watford but is the Hemel hempstead or Milton Keynes one still there?

The store finder on their website is up to date, clearly shows the ones which have closed down, and any which have been taken over by HMV have been removed from the site.
#25
Whats the problem with "zavvi" deals?
Anything that saves you money is good is it not?

voted hot from me as i have just come back from the trafford centre, manchester and the extended discounts started today not tomorrow.

when at tills i would advise you to check the prices because the scanner isnt always correct, some things are stickered lower then the computer actually says.

i grabbed a few bargains there, this years birthday/xmas pressies are now sorted.
#26
They have wii play with remote for £18odd. Picked up 2 earlier.
#27
Wow 25% off halo 3 priced at £40 bargain HaHa:giggle:

no, its not their stock....zavvi dont own any stock....its entertainment uk's stock (Woolies subsidiary)

re: giftcards...because zavvi dont own the stock, its effectively owned by another company (euk, woolies subsidiary distributor)......what the administrator should have ideally done is to erase the zavvi name from all the shops (prob is this costs alot of money, which the company doesnt have)
morally tho the government should sort this mess out....as this zavvi situation has shown a massive flaw in the voucher/credit voucher business.....i will never give someone a voucher ever again now....how are people supposed to have faith in vouchers.....my wife had £30 of Adams vouchers she may as well go and burn
as for zavvi vouchers, people stung by this have been robbed.....zavvi are thieves and i wouldnt blame anyone in this situation if they handed over a voucher and walked off with goods to the value

Well prices must be kind of right as before the Bournemouth branch became HMV it was 1/3 empty with plenty of people buying up blu ray dvds! To expect internet prices on the high street is retarded.
#32
Wii play £18'ish, Pes for PS3 £18'ish....some stuff is still a big overpriced compared to Amazon but standard high street type prices. You can get some deals.
#33
Cold.. went in mine (Salisbury) and it appears to have been taken over by HMV already even if it is still Zavvi.

Just a few prices:

24 box set £100
Dark Sector £29.99 (got delivered for £4.26 only this week!)
Xbox 360 Arcade £130
Numerous PS3/360 games up at £45
Sex and the City box set £60 (£10 more than a couple of weeks ago then!)
Wii Nunchucks £18
Midnight Club LA Xbox 360 £39.99
Sonic Unleashed £39.99

Waste of time.

Amazing. so your voting a thread about Zavvi cold because your local Zavvi has been taken over by HMV. Makes sense.

There's a hell of alot of irrational hatred towards the dying Zavvi brand.

It's still selling as Zavvi and it's Zavvi stock run by Zavvi staff. It is in the process of being taken over by HMV.

No good a deal being 'hot' if it's not actually available..
#36
Picked up some fantastic savings on books in Zavvi today. Most of them were all ready marked down then 50% of marked prices!

Thanks op :)
#37
How can it be trading as Zavvi if that store has been purchased by HMV, its the same stock and staff because HMV bought it as a package. So your grievence is now with HMV.
