It is Interesting, but I'm not sure if I want to spend any money to see laggy movies...
This one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MO2A1UG is more less the same (only 8GB, not 16GB) and the comment stopped me before I've bought it. I'll wait for other opinions and who knows :)

what is the point when you can just get a Chromecast and either stream from "popcorn time" or download a torrent and stream it to your TV? these devices seem redundant now.

Nice little media player and I suppose if you are in the market for for a streamer and want to future proof then you could do a lot worse. A lot of the advertised 4K streamers play 4k content via software encoding and this does it natively via the hardware.

so you get 4K @60fps h.265 and hdmi 2.0

about as good as you are gonna get right now.

I'm guessing that you're not familiar with xbmc then. I wouldn't say they're redundant I only bought one a few weeks ago and it works like a charm.

I bought a rk3288 box from geekbuying after getting frustrated with how locked dwn my Fire Tv is (currently cant root)

Did take 10working days to arrive bit scores close to 40,000 on benchmark, compared to a Fire TV (30,000)

Remote on all these boxes are a bit naff so i also boughta tronsmart air mouse. Thes box runs every thing on xbmc without breaking a sweat and so far seems very stable. Any wuestions give me a shout.
