I know it is no longer the depths of winter but we are in the UK so I'm sure a chilly spell may well be around the corner. Certainly good for outdoors when trying to keep warm or purchasing for later in the year.

Weighing in at a mere 272 grams, the Zippo is ideal for campers, walkers, skiers, fishermen, mountaineers, football fans, festival goers, people working outdoors and anyone else prone to chilly mitts.

Cold hands, warm heart? What claptrap. If your hands are cold, everything else is brass monkeys too. That’s why a decent hand warmer is just the ticket. But keeping warm and looking cool isn’t easy. So thank goodness the ultra stylish Zippo Hand Warmer is such hot stuff!

Brought to you by the bods behind the world’s most iconic lighter, this gleaming hand warmer looks like the kind of thing James Dean might have used to warm his mitts. But the Zippo is more than just a pretty face because it radiates serious heat without a flame, as it cleverly utilises a technique called catalytic combustion. It’s like having a full-on fire in your pocket without all the coal, twigs and messy burny bits.

Warming bagThanks to a platinum catalysed glass fibre burner (no, not a clue), the gorgeously crafted Zippo can produce up to ten times more heat than rival hand warmers and lasts up to 12 hours with a single 12ml filling of lighter fuel. Amazing!

Operating the Zippo is easier than losing your gloves. Simply remove the lid, light the burner, wait for the clever indicator bar to turn red (there’s no flame, remember), pop it back in its protective warming bag (this baby gets really hot) and Jack Frost’s your second uncle twice removed. Mmm... instant warmth.

Blowing into cupped hands? Bah! Fondling a Zippo is where it’s at.

Excellent, nice one.

I have no heating, winter gone I bought a charcoal hand warmer. Was good but a right chew on getting lit properly. Decided to use some birthday money to buy the zippo one. It is sooooo much better than the charcoal fuel ones.

Hot without the bag/case on it. nice and toast when in the bag.

My humble advice on use is.....do not use a turboflame lighter to light the catalyst, you'll just burn it out and ruin it. Use a Zippo of somthing that isnt like a blowtorch.

Heat added.

Thanks. Ordered one as a small pressie for my daughter who as an apprentice engineer with Network Rail works outdoors most of the time.

Does this contain two units? Can't imagine there's many one handed people if it's one.

I had a good think about this, and I think I may have a solution. I realised that when I clap, or make a burger in my job, my hands get close. When I clap the burger baps together with a bit of burger in, sometimes I feel the warmth of the burger, and hold it against my bearded face.

You could try holding the handwarmer (burger) between your two hands, like a clap that stopped on the noisy bit.

I've got one, it's dead simple to light, there must be some right plonkers out there that can't light something sooooo simple. The heat lasts for a good 12 hours. I might get another one so I can have one in each pocket :)

Edit: Ordered another one. Thanks op.

Have one of these and one of the chinese ebay ones that cost about £3.50 (and even include a spare catalyst), both put out the same heat, feel similar build quality too.

Even as a Zippo lighter fan I would buy the chinese one over the Zippo (or 3 for the price of a Zippo.)
#26
All well and good, but how do you cope without the use of your hands for 12 hours?

but zippo recommend to use zippo own brand fluid, because other fluid or either dangerous(flammabl)or with bad odour, whether zippo fluid is safe and odour less....by the way don't buy cheap handwarmer as they are not good and danger,+ you will waste money by keeping buy different cheap handwarmer,so go for the good one 1st time to save money/skin/time
