Excellent price for a really good film, Quidco available also
(Use the £2 DVD voucher to get it at this price until 28/11, then £1.99 with voucher)

This is the Region 3 release so you will need to either have a multiregion dvd player or have a player that can be made multiregion (most players can be made to do this, its very easy to do using remote button presses and there are guides available on the internet)

Next best price is £5.49 from HMV

The true story behind the murders that many crime scholars believe to be the most perplexing series of unsolved crimes in modern history comes to the screen in chilling detail as Fight Club and Seven director David Fincher steps behind the camera to tell the mysterious tale of the infamous Zodiac killer. A relentless serial killer is stalking the streets of the San Francisco Bay Area, leaving citizens locked into a constant state of panic, and baffled authorities scrambling for clues. Though the killer sadistically mocks the detectives by leaving a series of perplexing ciphers and menacing letters at the crime scenes, the investigation quickly flatlines when none of the evidence yields any solid leads. As two detectives remain steadfast in their devotion to bringing the elusive killer to justice, they soon find that the madman has control not only over their careers, but their very lives as well. Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr. star.

great film!
#3
pointless film
#4
Not seen it yet, but it has good reviews. It gets 7.9/10 on IMDB from nearly 70,000 votes so that's pretty good.

At that price I may get it!

pointless film

Completely agree, this is possibly one of the most boring films I've ever had the misfortune to see:x
#6
Awful movie
#7
Funny how everyone don't like this movie, yet on IMDB almost 70.000 people gives it an average of 7.9 - just missing the Top 250.
The director has done Fight club, Seven and The game which are all great. At £1.99 I guess it's worth a shot - for me anyway.
#8
Great film, based on real story. worth getting
#9
Very good film
#10
Yep I really enjoyed it as well. Each to their own... :)
#11
From anywhere else I would order at this price, but I wouldn't even risk £1.99 of my money with CD-Wow
#12
For me the frist hour or so were great, really enjoyed it. But the film seemed to wonder aimlessly through an anti-climactic second half . Would recommend if you can turn it off after an hour or so and make up your own ending!
#13
Shame about the Region 3 thing, but good price for a good lengthy film. I enjoyed it quite a lot in the cinema. I'm sure I saw some subliminal cuts in the movie... or was it just me? :)
#14
It's based on an unsolved case, and so the 'resolution' is appropriately vague - this film is more about atmosphere and menace. The makers also introduced elements of a subliminal intelligence grading system into it to ensure that the cretinous would fail to appreciate it on any level.
#15
If you're expecting another Bourne Identity clone (the "new" James Bond) then forget it. If you want a film to challenge you then get this.
#16
Thought provoking and well made.

why whats happened in the past?
I've never had issues with Cdwow and when items haven't arrived they've always acted swiftly to fix it.

You're the one throwing out the personal insults and I'm "cretinous". Interesting.

It is a very good film, but it is very much a thinking man's movie. Not that I am saying anything about those who don't like it :whistling:

its a great film based upon one of americas unsolved cases of the zodiac serial killer, its a david fincher film and therefore a bit like marmite (love/hate)

They advertise a good price (particularly on pre-orders).

They accept your order and debit your card.

You wait.

Two weeks later you get an email bumbling on about supplier problems.

You wait some more.

They evade your questions regarding how they are failing to supply an item that is currenlty Number 4 on their best sellers list.

You wait some more.

Eventually, they wear you down to the point you cancel and order elsewhere at a higher price just to get the damned thing, praying they actually refund the money they have been merrily earning interest on for the past month or so.

Once I started monitoring a few CD-WOW posts, I realised that I wasn't alone in my experience with them. Naturally many other people will have had perfectly acceptable transactions. However, I personally wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

Over the past 18 months they've become very prone to still advertising items for sale weeks after they can no longer obtain them - or can take months to fulfill orders even if they can get stock. Their bargains are no longer in the same league as they used to be either.

I've bought loads from them over the last 5 or 6 years but can't be bothered to look at the site now even when they send me loads of voucher codes.

Maybe it's just me then, but I found it to be one of those films I wished was over not long after it started, there just didn't seem to be much point to it.

Assuming I'm "cretinous" then the makers got it spot on, I did fail to appreciate it on any level. On the other hand, it sounds like the pretentious folks of this world really enjoyed it :whistling:

Well I enjoyed the first half and fell asleep for the second. Mind you it was on an overnight US flight so wouldn't blame the film too much.

For that price it's worth getting to make your own mind up. As it's based on a true life unsolved mystery then I don't expect to feel it's all resolved in the second half.

Good price for a seriously boring film !!!!!!
