Slate bed or no?

Don't American pool tables have oversized pockets? Certainly the ones in the bowling alley near me have, erm, large balls and oversized pockets and don't feel right to play on compared to 'normal' tables.

I'm glad you mentioned that, I'd already got the tape measure out and was planning on how to sell it to the wife but now I think I'll give it a miss and not feel too bad about it. Oversized pockets? Americans are so disappointing when it comes to playing proper games with proper skills. Bah!

I massively doubt it for that price.

Yeah they're a lot bigger than English pool tables but it's a much better game once you get used to it.
Chip shots FTW!

You'd really want a 9ft table with American sized pockets though.

Still it's a great price, I wish I had somewhere to put it.

last year for the same price.. good deal as this one comes with all the accessories.
Last year's deal didnt! - though they have chanced it since

Also, you could get an old pool table out of a pub for around £200
#13

I can't get through on website to place an order. Keeps saying too many people on site at moment
#15
Yeah i bought a very good pub, slate bed pool table for £200 plays, second hand. As long as the cloth and the cushions are decent thats your best bet for a £200 table.

yeah and if only my aunt had balls then sh'ed be my uncle!!

Actual american pool playing area is 8ft x 4ft, the full table length would be approximately 9ft.
American pool isn't as easy as it looks, pockets are big but balls are also big and so is the table, once you play on american sized tables its hard going back to 6ft tables, I prefer american sized tables as you can apply more spin to the cue ball. You need just as much skil as compared to the british siblings.

Can someone please try to take this table through to checkout to see if it is possible to purchase and report back? I can't get past the item description page

Adults only - Does that mean you play naked or for clothes with the neighbours? :?

Where do you live? Might pop round!
#33
If I had enough room I would buy this today! I've always wanted my own pool table and the full size American tables can cost £3000+ so this would be much more in my price range :D

Been thinking of a pool table for the garage for ages.

How do these things cope in a garage? my garage is pretty big not damp at all but of course in winter it does get bloody cold out there.

Do i really need to be looking at an outdoor table??

Also where are people getting these ex pub tables for £200 i looked a while ago at reconditioned ones with new cloth etc and it was more like £600
#38
