Okay lens for stationary objects, but if you are thinking about shooting sporting events, or anything that moves, forget it. Very slow autofocus. Good price for what it is.

Agree with the comment above... Don't try to snap photos of F1 cars as they zip past..

I used this lens until recently for football photography.
Great lens but obviously not great for low light such as under floodlights.

Only stopped using it due to finally getting a f2.8.

Not sure if I'm allowed to do this but look at the older football photos at chestertonphotography.co.uk for some examples

It's also about getting a quality product for that money. I was going to buy this today from Jessops. Being a novice photographer I'd like to say thanks for the advice. How about this lens in comparison...
