but the Dell Latitude D630, upgraded to core 2 duo T7500, 2gb and with only 160gb hard drive, costs £123 more than this one

The GT is better than the GS; while the GT has a lower clock speed it has more stream processors so does more but runs cooler and consumes less power. Plus you can probably overclock it. The GT is worth the extra if you're playing games.

Voted Hot! Very good price for this

I had got the impression that prices quoted should be before Quidco deductions and include postage (i.e. this should be about £685)?

Did I get the wrong end of the stick or has there been a change of approach recently?

Great spec!, never heard of the company though, I hope they don't only employ monkeys in their factory who strictly work monday mornings and friday evenings... if you know what I mean.. (reliability)

Im still loving the dell 1520 with free upgrades I got two months ago.

Funnily enough spent all last night looking at laptops around this spec.

The Asus Z99SC has a slight reduction in a couple of hardware areas, but a
much higher resolution screen (I am a resolution junkie) and comes in at 600 pounds + postage at ebuyer:

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=0&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=127306

IN the end I put money down for a dell Vostro (currenlty 70 pounds off ex VAT) which came in at 760 UKP, but it did have a few bells and whistles making up some of that (9 cell battery, bluetooth, wireless N, 8600 GT graphics and a WUXGA+ 1680x1050 screen). It also suffers from no DVI or HDMI output though, which is making me a little edgy. But without some level of compromise, I was heading toward the 1000 UKP mark with a Zepto or Samsung X65, which is just too much cash right now.

I'd also echo the Dell Vostro comments. I ordered one a couple of days ago after going round in circles for weeks looking at laptops.

Point to note that the Vostros are only on the Small Business site if anyone's looking for them. You don't really have to be a company to order from there though (although I was ordering for my company).

I bought a Zoostorm laptop last September and am very pleased with it. Couldn't find anything that matched the spec at the time without spending nearly an extra £200. I think I've determined that the chassis is Fujitsu Siemens and components like the HD are Samsung.

Mine cost me £580.00 at the time and the only upgrade I've made is increasing the RAM from 512 to 2gb - And of course used DH Mod to enable me to use the very latest ATI drivers. Runs every game I throw at it a treat.

Hello all,
I am new to laptops and am in the process of looking to buying one, i see you all talking about the Zoostorm and the Dell Vostro, they both look good to me but like i said i am new to them and dont want to end up with something thats not very good,

so if you all dont mind giving me some more advise as to which one i should get i would really appreciate it.

Thanx all

What vista score does this get?

Ordered two of these on the 30th August, quoted 10 days delivery, then 10 working days (which was Wednesday there), finally managed to get a phone number to call them (they are exclusively email driven) basically got told Zoostorm (the latop manufacturer) were struggling to meet demand :whistling: and that I would see the laptops next week, but could'nt confirm an exact date

If they don't confirm by Monday a due date I will be cancelling and getting my CC company to get the funds back that they took at the time of order :x

Not impressed thus far

19 days on and PCNextday still can't promise a delivery date

So cancelled my order for the 2 laptops

Good Laptop at a good price, but the actual companies involved (PC Nextday / Zoostorm) customer service is shocking - avoid

BTW for anybody else in the same boat here's PC Nextday's telephone number -: 0151 709 6342
