Not bad, just put in a GTX 1050 ti and you're good to go. Depending on the PSU.

Also need an OS but just buy one cheap from Ebay or kinguin

we need a cheap but reliable PC for basic Admin work at local charity. Whats the issue with the PSU on this?
I'm not very up on technical stuff so a simple solution would be appreciated.

A decent PSU is necessary if you're sporting a higher end graphics card that requires more power than the PCIe lanes can supply, but for admin work its fine, the PSU will never be taxed. Even expensive PSUs go bang - I've had a £80 corsair explode in a cloud of smoke after a few months, keep your PC backed up and don't worry about it.

It's fine for what you want it for, it's just that it may not be good enough to add a graphics card, which you would not need.

yep source a cheap W7 or W8/8.1 code, they generally work fine at first, then use free upgrade to W10 with assistive technology link from Microsoft which will generate a cast iron new product key

Graphics card woes!
We had a PC donated to us, used it lightly for less than 6 months. It now no longer displays anything on the monitor. We've worked out that the VGA cable and monitor is fine by testing them on on a laptop. Somebody had a look and said it could be the VGA port or graphics card that needs changing. opened it up and its an 'on board' version which apparently means you can't just swap it and basically need a new motherboard.

PC turns on fine. just can't display anything.

typicall! I posted a deal from this seller a couple weeks ago and it got pulled as the seller has low feedback and now we've got 2 deals posted from the same seller!

Are there no other video outputs on the motherboard? (e.g. DVI/HDMI). If not it sounds like quite an old machine.

I'm sure someone on HUKD can recommend a cheap PCI powered GPU for around £30 (I would investigate but I'm not back until later this evening). You can then disable the motherboard video output.

It's not complicated to install, any PC savvy family members?

when you say it turns on fine do you just mean power comes on or do you hear it beep, fans and HDDs spin, lights on keyboard come on? in my experience there's other things which are likely to go wrong before on board graphics pack in.
#34
if you get not POST and fans spin it is likely a faulty motherboard or the memory needs re seating
