This is an Argos deal, but why would you buy this over the Acer Aspire One (@ £150 from Asda or £180 elsewhere) I have no idea.

Voted cold

It's got XP pre-installed, but only 8GB hard drive...would go for the AAO unless you didn't want teh hassle of installing XP.

does the acer at asda not come with linux? not that i personally care but some people do and some people who do not know what they are doing dont like installing operating systems. Also i have no idea what this is like when it comes to upgrading RAM but the acer should not really be tackled by anyone who does not know what they are doing.

Think i will stick to my MSI wind with the 6 cell battery that i have on order at the mo

Fair point - Although I'd personally rather save the £70 and have Linux than XP (or put XP on to it). If I DID want XP, the MSI Wind would be my choice or the Advent versions (4489) which are about £200, but again, that would have the 80gb HD rather than an 8gb SSD.

The acer is a fantasticly cheap machine but just too small for me, I myself has just brought an MSI wind with a 6 cell battery, 160gb hard drive and a 2 year warranty for £270 and i am glad i have spend the extra money i persoanlly think it is well worth it. If you are on a budget then the acer is great machine but like i said i prefer the 10" machines and if you want xp the advent you mentioned is not bad and nor is this (although i have no idea about the make)

this netbook may be available about 8/01/09 this is what the staff told me in our local store as for asdas 150 netbook i have one and i am disapointed 2hour battery life fan running all the time even on start up hard drive clicking most of the time it keeps disconnecting from my router asda said no body was buying acer aspire one that is why they reduced the price

Am I the only one who's never heard of Zoostorm???

I checked my local Asda store and online and can't find the Aspire one at these prices. In fact the cheapest version with Windows XP is a lot more expensive than this Zoostorm Freedom at Argos. I just need it for checking email and surfing the web but I don't want Linux as i've never used it, i'd rather stick with XP. What do you think, is it a decent deal?

The 8gb drive is because it's a solid state drive - much more robust since there's no moving parts .
