Looking to get back into gaming after some years away and would like to know if this is good?

Want to avoid building myself unless it means a significant saving.

Looks like another 10% off if you open a Very account making it £1080

I hope this can play anything I want for the next 2 years (or longer) then upgrade the CPU/GPU if needed?

One of the user reviews gives a bit more details on some components:

i7 6700 3.4Ghz, 16GB Crucial Single channel 2133 Ram, 256GB SanDisk SSD, MSI B150 MATE mobo, nvidia GTX 1070 8GB, NZXT S340 case. Don't know the PSU brand and wattage due to Very & Littlewoods Lack of Information, this PC has no optical drive and no option to fit one. Comes with Windows 10 pre-installed and the usual windows apps.

very good deal if you get it down to £1080 after discount of course.

That 10% is it for new credit accounts? As Very are not generous with their credit amounts, and you will probably get £1000 to start, so you will have to preload your account with £200
#3
Pretty good if £1080, should last more than 2 years!

Cold. i could travel back in time, shoot Bill Gates in the head, steal his money, invest in Apple stock. Wait until the present day. Then use my fortune to invest in wholesale computer businesses, have them ship me parts dirt cheap because I'm the boss. Then build one way cheaper than this crap.

how is this so cheap????

Avoid, still waiting on a Zoostorm Pc I ordered from argos on the 26th November. Arrived damaged twice (Zoostorm/Stormforce uses TNT top deliver, rather than it being direct from Argos), wouldn't change courier. Dropped in instore on the 20th December? Zoostorm supposedly arranged to collect it last Monday and a week and half later I've asked them for a refund. Will take my money elsewhere and advise the same.

Managed to get the 1tb HDD / 128gb SSD version of this for £700 very recently, but was probably a pricing error.

Yes it was a GTX 1070, 16gb RAM, i7 6700 etc

I used to work for a company were the boss wanted cheap one year and bought 10x Zoostorm computers. I as the IT guy ended up sending them all back for repair within the year. It cost the boss more money over broken computers, than it did to just buy top end. (I could have fixed them, but a warranty is a warranty.)

The cardboard the computers came in was stronger than the metal of the cases.

Find friend who knows how to build computers and bung them a few quid if you don't want to risk it yourself. It'll be cheaper and miles better than these computers.

Plus, Very aren't well known for returns. They demand you go back to the manufacturer than deal with them. Even though, that's not the law!

If you're going to buy a prebuilt computer from a store, buy from a store that knows about computers and/or have a very good customer service!

Since this post is full of the typical comments can I add my tuppence?

"Where did you get all the bits for £5? Please please tell me and spoonfeed me with the links. Then show me a dummies guide with lots of pics too on how to put it together."

There are good machines on Ebay if you cant get the 10% discount.

Case : GAME MAX G-FORCE CASE WITH BLUE LED FANS OR GREEN LED FANS GAMING CASE
WITH CARD READER BUILT IN
PLEASE SPECIFY AFTER PURCHASE WHICH COLOUR FANS YOU WOULD LIKE.

Power Supply : 600 Watt COOLERMASTER PSU With Power Cable Supplied
Motherboard : GIGABYTE GA-H110M-S2HP usb3 and usb 3.1 sata3 gen3 10/1000 lan port
CPU : Intel i7 6th Gen 6700K Quad Core CPU 4Ghz (4.2Ghz Turbo)

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO OPERATING SYSTEM ON THIS PC

Only obvious downsides are no operating system (can get W10 Pro license on ebay for around £12) and the SSD is smaller. But it is £999 so for the £81 difference you could get a license and a bigger SSD

Motherboard lets them down unfortunately. Don't see the point of paying the extra for an unlocked K CPU if it's on a H110 mobo!

Look if you wanna go ahead and spend £1000 and then try overclock it on a cheap power supply, don't cry on here if it breaks and takes out your expensive components with it.

Some people just assume if a power supply says 1000 watts it's decent but it's the quality of the Power supply that counts.

It's not unheard of for a cheap power supply to die and take out an entire PC with it, and you wouldn't get replacements either.

I've asked Zoostorm about the components used in this model (e.g. brand of 1070 - I'd assume Galax) and will let everyone know if I get an answer.

Personally I wouldn't have bought this particular one from Very, but finding a very similar model (smaller HDD/SSD) for the insane price of £715 (on Amazon - all sold out now) twisted my arm to take the Pepsi challenge. Even the stock versions of the components listed would come to way more than £800 on their own.

*Edit* - looks like the seller is trying to cancel the order :(

FYI, I got a reply from Zoostorm who tell me that this model mostly uses a KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC which is a mid-upper range 1070 in terms of speed.

As did the email I got back from their Customer Service :) They just confirmed the GPU.

From what I know, it's likely to be a functional 'stock' PSU of the type that happily occupies any number of pre-builds you might find out there. It probably wont be a decent Bronze or whatever, but it should do the job. As a warrantied pre-build you'd be covered even if the PSU did fail, so the main downside would probably be the efficiency and cooling.

Build your own or ask an expert.. it doesn't worth. One should never buy a pre-built PC in the 21th century.
#34
personally would never buy a pre build you dont know how it has been handled or put together by a monkey plenty of vids and guides about to help
