Refurbished Products
Refurbished products are all 100% OK! In fact, they represent amazing value for money, especially as we offer all our refurbished products with a full ONE YEAR warranty. These products may be classed as refurbished for a number of reasons:
They may have been previously sold, and subsequently returned to one of our parent stores and not put back on sale for cosmetic packaging reasons. This is often as little as a broken seal.
Alternatively, they may simply have incurred a minor amount of cosmetic packaging damage during handling in the day to day running of our business.
Some items may have been returned to our parent stores with a reported fault or where a customer had difficulty in using the product.
All of these products are returned to our certified testing facilities where they are examined, fully tested, and if necessary, repaired and repackaged. Only suitable products, as classified by our professional inspection and testing process, are then made available for sale through Argos Outlet.

Refurbished products may be non-pristine, for example:

On occasion some items may show signs of minimal use, which may include minor cosmetic marks which do not affect the functionality in any way.
Although most of our refurbished products are sold in their original manufacturers packaging, there may be occasions, due to packaging damage, where plain white or brown packaging may be used.
In a small number of instances, it may have been necessary to substitute some original manufacture accessories with generic compatible models, for example TV remote controls.
Similarly, some original instructions or user manuals may be printed or photocopies of the original.
The fact that we guarantee the products for a full year means that you can purchase with full peace of mind.

If it doesnt come with the original (which it will!) then they substitute for "a generic compatible model" ;)
http://www.zoostormplay.com/ << says it comes with an air mouse as per pics above

Its probably brand new stock, last refurb I had from them was 100% new sealed (kurios 4s)

Nice one, would be interested to know how this performs with XBMC. I find it laggy on the Rasp Pi and was tempted to buy the NUC 2820 to get the whole HTPC experience. I also like the fact that you can install Android 4.4 on the NUC as well.......

Allwinner didnt exactly release all source afaik, vidon.me and mele partnered on making a HW accelerated build (again afaik) (could be tales from my ass)

The rar'd version in my link is probably the latest one.

SD content and streamed content should be sweet with xbmc 13
Also local 1080p content (as in usb or SD card) should work with external player support (not sure if theres a newer version)

Thanks for that djjinx1, I've viewed those Yt. vids but can't seem to find any that evidence the mirroring of an S3 Lte which is what I have!

It just worries me that it's running an older OS, less memory and a lesser processor than my phone has! :D

It will be ok for streaming, netflix, iplayer, any game pre 2014 should pretty much work as well (as well as most this year except the highest end games)

"Any game pre 2014" A 3 year old single core cortex A8 with a low clocked single cluster Mali 400 GPU. This is the same SoC used in the Ainol Novo Elf which people thought was slow then.

Ok most games will work on this, would you not agree?

Perhaps San Andreas, Fifa 14, Batman et al may be slow/wont work but Asphalt 6/7 and similar will work :)
When I receive mine I will check
I had a Dell Streak 5 with a 1ghz single core and measly Adreno 200 and it could play ALOT of games that you wouldnt think possible

Infact heres my old thread lol

So Fifa 12 was laggy at 480p and its going to be playable at 1080p on similar hardware. I think the problem will be if you have used something faster it seems extra slow.

Any ideas where there is a list of compatible xbmc capable media players ? Thanks

Looks a good price but suspect many would find it slow if use to faster media players... Heat added though :)

So the Adreno 200 and Mali 400 are similar now???

And this is newer single core tech, also at a higher clock speed with double the ram (as the dell streak 5)
I'm not saying it will run all games flawlessly but out of the 1000's of games it probably cant run 20

Any my current phones are s5 and Lg G2, the Streak 5 is long gone.

I understand where your coming from though with the Mali having to run them at 1080P
As always I will test a few and post back, with these things games with accelerometer support (or air/keyboard) are probs the only ones worthwhile anyway! :D

From Argos (whos Q and A are useless),

Q Will i be able to connect a usb webcam , Microphone and setup Skype calling, if so is there a detailed guide to this?

A Connecting a USB webcam is possible , but can be very problematic getting one working with the older version of android that it uses.

Skype is also available on the google play store.

It would be simpler to run Skype on a cheap laptop with a built in laptop.

I dont have one so cant test (unless a phone camera can be a webcam??)

So having googled I can see XBMC supports slingbox, so I could cast slingbox to the big screen from this rendering the chromecast redundant ... ?

That's so old school. It's easy to cast local files and Popcorn Time/TV Portal/Showbox (and similar apps) stomp all over icefilms. the only really weak area right now is live and on-demand television.

Edit: I was still *this* close to ordering one though, just for those audio outputs (the optical out in particular). :D I think I actually deserve some kind of medal for resisting. I'll make do with the Raspberry Pi (for music) and Chromecasts (for video) and try not to buy any more of these damn boxes... I'll try. It's so cheap though, and comes with that remote...

I would not expect smooth playback of even 720p with this CPU.

Cheap for an intro into the general genre of Android TV boxes though and no doubt that somebody ay XDA, Freaktab or Slatedroid will have a custom rom for it.

1080p via mxplayer has been tested fine though?

I doubt that actually is in the UK.

The seller's address is:
YUAN SHUHUA
111 North Bridge Road #13-06 Peninsula Plaza
179098 default, Peninsula Plaza
Singapore

and shipping time is "6-10 business days" which also happens to be the same amount of time orders take to ship from Hong Kong/China/Singapore

If you look at the negative feedback they've received in the past month, you'll see a lot of people complaining that they claim to ship from UK but actually it comes from Asia.

Plus I specifically recommended the one from Geekbuying because that box comes from a very good factory who use high quality parts, high QC standards and have a good software team. It also has a heatsink in it, which a lot of other MX boxes don't.
