Yes, I did think we had some confusion this morning with regards to my post.. but mine was in MISC, so this one is fine to stay in here. Bargain fir this card, t'is slightly overclocked from a base 8800GT so well worth the money.

i have this card but not overclocked!
really really good card for gaming!

How good is this card?

Don't give me numbers but more like can it play all games out so far and how long will it last for?
#6
down to your monitor size but i ran all games full whack except crysis, that still ran at high with a couple of settings turned down. this was on a 19" monitor. should last you another year easily, only farcry 2 and crysis warhead that might stress it i reckon.

I want to buy something at a good price, able to run all current games and last for a good few years:)

Guys...there's a rumour that it's going to remain at that price until 9am tomorrow so if you want it, you'd better hurry!

It's a fact...

...and even if you don't trust the words of their Admin over there **, one look at the ebuyer home page says it all. "Deal of the day". So it's reasonable to assume that the deal would only last for a day

** You've been registered there since Nov 2006 so one would expect you to believe at least a few of the things he mumbles :-D

Tempted by this, anyone know if it will work with a 350W PSU, the one from the Dell 530 Quadcore from Tesco?

good deal, not so good card.

Better to stretch another £20 and get a 4850.
#16
The 4850 is indeed the king of mid-high range cards right now. Beats the 9800GTX hands down and gives the new entry level Nvidia 200 series a scare. Just a shame it's made by ATI, even after all these years they're still lacking in decent driver support, they crash for no reason and don't even get me started about the Catalyst Control Center (sic).

I have the Point Of View version of this graphics card, it hasnt been overclocked yet. But it works like an absolute dream. I paid £106 for mine back in May form Ebuyer, so this is a great bargain. I think it is one of the best cards out there if you compare price with performance. I've got mine hooked upto a 42" LCD, supporting full 1080p.

There's no such thing as a midrange (good price) card that will last a good few years.

Buy cheap, buy often !

The Radeon HD4850 is the best of the current bunch - pick one up for £115 delivered from http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145527
It'll probably last you a couple of years, then just dump it on eBay for £30 and buy your next card.
