Graphics card offers are coming thick and fast as the new pricing and cards loom closer. This is the upgraded GTX 260 that beats the 1GB Radeon 4870 in a decent number of tests now (the original one didn't really contend). Whether you buy this or the 4870 depends what games you play, have a look at the reviews on line for more info.

Pretty sure this is the best price for a 216 Shader Core GTX 260, the standard one can be had for much less. Free delivery is available at OCUK forums but will take a bit of participation.

Please note this includes Free full copy of Far Cry 2 and a 5 year warranty, not to be sniffed at.

Voted HOT on price, even though Overclockers Customer Service cannot be called Customer Service. This card comes with either Farcry2 or GRID (two different retail box packs) plus 3DMark Vantage in the box..

They also have a really good deal on "B-Grade Gainward Golden Sample 4870 which is only £114.99 before delivery.

I've found their CS to be half decent, but far from perfect. Think this is the case with almost all etailers as I have had good and bad experiences with Scan, ebuyer and anyone else we have regularly used at work. Great spot on the 4870, just about cheap enough to make me choose that over the more expensive 1Gb models.

Only two worries are whether it will come with the dongles sucha s the HDMI and PCI-E Power adapter and what happens when your 14 day warranty is up :o(

Spoken to OCUK about the gainward boards, they are board only. No HDMI dongle, no sotware, no component output, no PCI-E adapter, not even a box. Add a 14 day warranty and they are not quite as good as they sound, but it is still by far the cheapest 4870 :whistling:

Or for a few quid less, you could buy this XFX GTX 260 XT.

It's overclocked out the box, comes with Far Cry2, and a voucher to download Mirrors Edge. Plus it's £20 cheaper today than it was yesterday (and typically I bought one yesterday!).

Good call on that, couldn't find a cheaper 216 core one on Scan last night so either my eyes were wonky or it is a new reduction. Post it at the start as free delivery is easier to achieve with Scan so for many people this will be over £10 saving and a free extra game with the only downside being a shorter warranty.

I have decided to go for the B-Grade 4870 myself, will flog on ebay at some point in the future if I need the HDMI connection

There's me promoting OCUK and they take the proverbial with my order. Sent me the order confirmation as soon as ordered, 10+ in stock at the time. Noticed that my order hadn't been updated at 12 so gave them a ring. After 10mins on hold I get told there is a problem with my order. Apparently they either can't find the item or mis-inputed the stock. Apparently they emailed me this morning to tell me to call them as there was an issue, no email in my inbox or spam leaves me with itchy chin syndrome. They offered me a refund or the option to change my order (no discount), massive help. There's me thinking I was re-building my system this weekend, now I am back to bargain hunting.

I wouldn't be so annoyed if this was a one off but exactly the same thing happened last time I ordered something from their B-Grade stock. I ordered a bargain 780G motherboard and it just didn't come. 3 days later I rang them and got the same baloney as this time. Last time I was even more annoyed as I had only decided to rebuild / update my server on the basis of this cheap board and had bought a matching Low Power AM2 processor from another supplier to go with it (couldn't buy from them as they didn't stock and couldn't return to my supplier as a business account).

Previously I had not really had much issue with OCUK and even found them not too bad with returns and other issues. The same mistake twice in a row, criminal lack of comms meaning you sit in waiting for deliveries that never happen and poor service offering no resolution nor any discount on alternatives mean that I will think twice next time.
