This phone goes on sale on PAYG for £99.99 inc £10 top up on 4th september or £81.99 in store if you are a virgin media customer. You can get it on contract from £13/month for virgin media customers (£18/month for non-virgin customers) on a 24 month contract too. Click on the link and then the zte checkbox on the left hand side, the zte blade v will appear there on 4th september.

Confirmation from Virgin that it will indeed be on sale on the 4th september and that virgin customers can get it for £81.99 in store: http://about.virginmedia.com/press-release/9398/virgin-media-cuts-the-mustard-with-zte-blade-v Virgin store staff just need your account number and name to get it for this price in store.

This is easily the best spec for a phone available at £99.99 from the uk. The samsung galaxy ace 3 and sony experia m cost way more than this, huewei's phones of similar spec cost a lot more too.

Contract link for blade v: http://store.virginmedia.com/content/eSales/en_gb/home/virgin-media-mobile/pay-monthly-phones/zte-blade-v/zte-blade-v-tariffs.html PLEASE NOTE the phone is showing up as blade 3 in the basket, don't order yet until they fix this problem.

The phone is locked to virgin sim cards, the only way to unlock the phone at this time is to pay virgin £15.32. the £10 payg credit can be used to put towards this cost, resulting in you paying just £5.32.

Top ups are in £5 minimum increments so ask the phone advisor nicely if they can credit you the 32p needed to unlock. they did for me but if you demand it they could insist you buy another £5 to cover it

Not as good as some of the more expensive phones IMO.

You are correct it isn't as good as the £500 Samsung galaxy s4, thank you for pointing this out.

Wish this was a few weeks ago before I spent £215 on a Galaxy S3, obviously a better phone, but £130 better?

Those phones are rather different really, galaxy s3 is faster, better screen, camera etc. But this has some tasty spec for just £90. There are few phones if any under £150 that have 1gb ram, many have android 4.0 instead of 4.1.2, i expect this phone to sell well in the uk. This uses cortex a5 cores (low power), galaxy s3 has cortex a9 cores which are probably 50% or so faster but i wouldn't pay £215 for a phone with that spec personally.

This phone for under a hundred is a bargain but so is the Galaxy S3 for £215 if you got it new! You can't compare upper and lower tier phones directly, there's just too big of a jump.

Blade V - I didn't even know there was a Blade IV.

Quadcore for under £100 - looks like we finally got a new San Francisco.
Other than a small-ish screen with only 480p resolution these specs are actually rather good.

For anyone who thinks the Nexus 4 still is a bit too much for their wallet, this is the phone to get. Judging by specs alone that is.

you can often fix that with custom roms, maybe even apps.

Can you detail a bit? I have the Acer E2 Duo, and seem very elegant to me. What makes it look budget in your eyes?
The Acer E2 also gets raving reviews on Amazon.de at a much higher price...
