buy the zte phone today at superdrug for only 5 pound, ( small catch you have to spend 5 pound in store) but you do get 10 pound credit. A great stocking filler for the teenagers, the phone comes with a camera on three.

Description : The F866 is a basic 3G phone aimed at the prepay market, available on the Hutchison 3 network. The specification is very similar to the first LG handsets available on 3 (such as the LG U8110, U8120 and U8130). There'a a rotating VGA resolution camera, 176x220 pixel main display in 65,000 colours and 10Mb of internal non-expandable memory. There is a dedicated "TV" button for accessing video content.

It's lighter than some other 3G phones, at 124 grams.. The F866's battery life is significantly better than early 3G devices too - quoted as around 3.5 hours talktime and 9 days standby.

I think this is the phone with "3" sim card glued onto it? Which means you can never use other sim cards on this phone.

Correct me if I'm wrong...
#6
Not sure if the glue thing is a 'myth' ... :prop:
#7
There has been reports of sims cards being glued in, but they can be chipped out...found a site where its been discussed

Like with a chisel or something!?

Ducky says they are glued in, I believe he's right :)
#9
Where was this advertised? Our local store knows nothing about it.

Hi peeps, if the sim is glued in those with a Tesco Clubcard could always use up the £10 credit and then send it off as a working phone and receive £12 worth of points! Just another option for everyone. :)
#11
the sim is not glued just got one, and it was advertized in the sun paper today!
#12
whats the best thing to buy a for a fiver and can we buy more than one????? would make ace xmas gifts for a few ppl i know
#13
You can buy more then one but you have to spend the fiver in store each time, so each one will cost a tenner. Hope this helps. :)
#14
Can someone who has bought one, confirm if they are locked to 3?
#15
got 4 of these today, allthough i did not have to spend any extra cash to get it (only 2 per customer), also got a free can of energy drink :)

as for the glue thing, ive checked 2 of mine and both have glued in sims.

Tbh playing with one for a few mins, they are really quite nice and easy to use, and very responsive better than the moto phones ive used in the past.
#16
wow, excellent deal, thanks! the sim is glued in but still great for the price.
#17
off to get one myself. if not glued in might get a couple

What's that all about then? Is Tesco really offering points for old phones?

#20
I just checked the two I bought - the sims ARE glued in in mine. Must vary from place to place I guess.
#21
Use the credit and send the phone to envirophone to get ~£19 to spend in Argos :)

Went to my local Store and they don't know anything about it.
Is the offer on today, Sunday as well.
Are all stores selling them?

Thanks.

I bought this for my son's xmas present last week. I paid £15 - at the time, the phone was £25 and if you spent £5 in store you got ten pound off. Plus it comes loaded with £10 airtime (60 day limit on that).

They told me the sim is glued in and I haven't checked. I was worried about the signal on '3' network but they assured me they have linked with O2 and you could get a signal anywhere O2 worked. Sure enough I've checked it in a few places (and I live in a place with notorious bad signal) and it's been very good.

The camera is pretty poor but all in all the phone is an absolute bargain - especially if you like me have a child wanting their first mobile phone.

Lol, well if the sim *is* glued in, would this make a difference? :giggle:
Being serious i may well be mistaken but most 3 handsets are locked to three, and would need flashing to be used on another network. Maybe an urban legend, never tried myself

Phone related offers at Superdrug are probably limited to branches that normally (as in the rest of the week outside of promotional days like this one) have a small counter for selling 3 mobile contracts and PAYG. Not all branches have them and so if yours doesn't then the chances of them offering this deal is slim to none :)
