I just rememberd that there were a different range there too with black rivited handles instead of rubber on the ones that I have posted. Looks like they are the TWIN® Chef range

:x GRRRRR vote with your feet! I will never shop at TKmax again after they started selling murderous hooded coats/jackets with knives in them. Bloomin money grabbers. They would probably sell their own nan if they could.

Stay well away from them! They should get done for manslaughter

I've not heard about this... tell me more?

I remember they messed up their PCI DSS and got bad rep from that but haven't heard anything else.

TK Maxx takes hooded coat with concealed 2.5 inch blade off its shelves

Im willing to believe that the company wasnt aware of the concealed blade, however you'd think someone along the supply chain would have noticed it and said something. They did react extremely quickly when it was reported.

So, we are getting melodramatic about a Daily Mail story about a tiny 2.5 inch Swiss Army knife in a Swiss Army jacket (it's legal to have a 3 inch non locking folding knife on the streets of Britain) in a thread about knives which are 6 or 7 inches long?

LOL!

The best way to make knives attractives to youngsters is to give them some kind of special illegal status.

Imagine your kid coming home wearing a knife jacket which they brought at TKcraps

You really are a Moron. Do you really think pulling a Jacket with a diddy little blade's gonna stop kids to go out and knive other's? If a kid pulled that on anoter kid the only damage they'd do was to there ego when everyone else laugh's at him.

And remember , we all know how hard it is for a kid to wander into the kitchan and slip a 7" blade into his pocket!;-)

I bought one of these knives last week from TK Maxx and if you look closely right at the top it says Twin Gourmet. Mine is also the seconds range but looks fine.
I bought a small one, like a peeler but slightly different to your pic and it was just £3.99! Be careful though as there is a mix of knives including the cheaper 'one twin' version

First off I mistakenly quoted you when it should have been Banjo Whatshisface instead. Secondly, calm down, save a bit of that strength.

Right on! It was immigrant kids like this with knives who killed Princess Diana!!!!!!

LOL

Yeah, they are good for knives. I got a block of 5 Stellar Sabatiers from the Canterbury branch for £30 the week before last. Would have posted, but they only had the one block :)

I laughed when I saw the link and it was the Daily Mail.
I could have bet on it being that paper.
They just make everything up and try and scaremonger the British public.
Total tosh if you ask me!

Voted hot.
These knives are really good quality. I bought a couple last time they were on offer.
Not as good as Global's, but for that price, a great bargain.

Had to edit this - I just realised that the original comment came from Banjo String.
There's no surprise there. According to this person, no matter what you get you'll be stabbed, murdered or bludgeoned to death! :w00t:

Comedy post of the day. Thanks for that.

And that knife is perfectly legal to own and carry in this country btw, being under 3 inches and folding...:whistling:
#26
What a suprise, it's from the Daily Mail.

It's a PEN KNIFE ON A F***ING CHAIN, for gods sakes... Some people really are absolutely ridiculous.
#27
A pencil, a screwdriver, or a knitting needle is just as lethal as a knife (or a gun). People kill - using whatever is at hand.

Bad people know that being caught with an innoccuous object instead of a banned knife (fixed blade or bladed pen knife more than 3"long) will not result in prosecution - unless the baddie is stupid enoguh to admit to the Police that he (or she, to be PC) is carrying the item with intent to injure someone (note that the jacket with concealed knife was LEGAL!).

Media are unwilling to acknowledege that the ongoing knife / gun furore may be based on a false premise, because doing so would reduce potentially juicy stories. Families of victims are so wrapped up in their grief that they can't see it either.

What to do? Crack down harder on people convicted of violence.

..LOL!

I believe Meridian TV broke the story first. Are they not telling the truth either?

Personally, I don't find knife crime a laughing matter.

Calm now. Sorry.
Here, have some

It was gang culture that started this silly craze of wearing hooded clothing, having a knife in it already is just being more authentic lol.
#31
I had a look at these knives in TK MAXX, loads available but I didn't buy because there I have knives for those purposes already.

Some people will be pleased to know that all the knives have big warning stickers telling the checkout not to sell them to under 18s. Good responsible practice if you ask me....;-)
#32
Leaving aside any tabloid wailing and gnashing of teeth about T.K. Maxx business practices I paid quite a lot of money (£100+) for a set of these knives recently and they're fantastic.

If the reason they're being sold as seconds is really just down to some discolouration on the handles then definitely a bargain at this price... I shall be having a look tonight in the hope of bolstering my selection of sharp pointy things.

I bought one of these last year in Sunderland and at the age of 26 and was asked for ID to prove I was over 16.

Banjo person - where do you get all of this wonderful information from???

been mine Today,
not really nice, all the stuffs are B grade no warrant,
and also, most are Henckels International ,
which you can easily get the A grade from Amazon

Woohoo for my first 'Hot' deal.

Thanks for all the heat everyone.

Sorry to get back to the original topic but,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000M4ZIZG/

Better deal IMHO. A set of 5 Sabatier knives in a block for £25.78.

I had a set of Sabatier knives (from TK Maxx as it happens) i didnt find they held their edge anywhere near as well as the Henckles (after the first few sharpens).

I would put Henckels on more of a par with Global than Sabatier. But tis always hard to find objective comparative reviews for knives.
#39
Sabatier knives might be slightly softer steel BUT they are easier to sharpen. (Also the Sabatier offer is covered by a guarantee - the others are basically sold as seen and no guarantee!)

The reason that the Sabatiers in TK Maxx are cheap is because they are not Sabatier Lion.
