Does this have its own ip address so I can access remotely away from local network
I don't have a static as I'm with virgin broadband

Heat OP,

This looks great for the price.
#3
You need to use a Dyndns service (dynamin Dns) in your situation.

The specs state under web server : Remote Access Support (DyDNS)

Dydns can be run from the nas directly. I attempted to do it via a macbook bit then mac always needs to be on and virgin doesn't even support dyn dns either

I will have to get a different router it seems
#7
Very tempted as I've been looking for a 4 bay NAS.
#8
I have the 2x2 bays v2 but a single 4 bay would fantastic as it comes with more features than the NSA325 v2
#9
Now we need 6TB drives to come down in price. :)

I've noticed with Virgin over 6 years it's always been a static IP unlike many other ISP's. With that in mind you need to port forward the NAS. PM for help if needed.

anyone know if this supports plex?

This seems to indicate it can, it was the previous model but they all support DLNA: Plex on Zyxel

thanks OP and HUKD, you just saved me over £50!! I was just looking at these through amazon and thought i'd checkout HUKD. i've been using the NSA310 for a couple of years and thought it time to have a more resilient solution. Just bought a couple of WD 3tb reds to go in it from amazon. Shame the HGST 3tb has expired...:-(

FYI, plex runs on the NSA310 but it looks like the NAS540 is a different set up so it might not work straight away.

2.1% cashback on TCB.

Has anyone brought one yet, if so, what is it like?

Just gone down to £169.99 on Amazon too. Has anybody seen any reviews of these? Doesn't seem to be any info about it anywhere.

Good time since I did raise this amazon that deal was cheaper elsewhere couple of days ago.

Worth raising this with Amazon everytime as Amazon have a tendency not to reduce prices unless another competitor does.
