The ZyXEL PL-100 Powerline is an extended access solution that allows your business or residence to be completely networked with existing power lines, with no need for additional wiring, simply connect the ZyXEL Powerline PL-100 to an existing power socket, and it will transform your electrical power lines into a network infrastructure. Its the easy way to allow data and power to share the same power socket.

I was after some of these the other day and couldn't find them below the £40 barrier, shipping will apply but orders over £50 are free so I ordered two sets :D

Delivery estimate is shown as 9.99 so the Dabs value ones will be cheaper delivered (although dearer than when i bought mine)

I love my 85Mb/s units, but if I was buying now, I might well be opting for the 200Mb/s ones for "futureproofing" ;-)
These are same make, from eBuyer a@ 75 quid delivered: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142059

Super Saver delivery is much less than that!

I did find some around the same price on Amazon but without reviews, these have a lot of positive reviews which is why I chose them.

And 200mb ones are useless to me at the moment as I'm planning to connect the actual 'links' these will create into 10/100 routers :-D

85 or 200mbps is the maximum you'll achieve in perfect conditions. I would expect you to get significantly less than this so the 200mbps ones might be the better option.

Precisely, it might mean you can run 100Mb/s network AT 100Mb/s as if it was cabled.

Don't get me wrong, the 85s run great for stuff like streaming video, but HD is beckoning for most people, and I usually have a habit of buying kit that I later end up updating soon.

Also... I have 3 devices connected to one plug (distant to the router) using a switch, (works fine in case anyone is wondering about if it is possible) so the extra bandwith there would have been handy too.

I was rather under the impression they all used the same chipset, so they don't vary much at all.

I tried two different sets as a wi-fi router will not reach one end of the house to the other and neither I could get to work so I figured you need relatively new wiring in your house.

I think your problems are a bit more urgent than whether to try one version or another if both parts of the house are both on the same phase of the electricity supply as most of us living in less than 4 or 5 bed houses are!

In fact if the wiring is "old" at all, I would spend the money you are not going to spend on these, on an electrician with a "Megger" to find out if it is up to plugging so much as a lamp in!
