That will be because it's listed on the Scan today only offers page.

Ok but you have to go through the today only link to get this price, if you search for the product and add it it comes out at £48.86 + £6.99 delivery .

£43.69 is over £5 cheaper than

Cheers OP - needed a couple more of these.

FYI: The ZyXEL UK specs/details etc are at:
http://www.connectplayentertain.co.uk/product_ajax.php?id=13

One design factor to think about with these is the width/bulk of the PLUG gizmo - ie MIGHT interfere with adjacent wall socket and/or need bulky space in front of the socket .

There's at least one maker's design (cant recall which) that uses a cable between the plug/socket and the gizmo which may be more flexible/accomodating of tight spaces.

I got these after months of BT Wifi problems, signal drops, huge ping in games etc. This fixed the problem immediately, plug them in and they're all ready. I changed uTorrent to accommodate my new connection and was able to seed files at 11mbps upload, it's good value set for anyone with wifi problems.

Hot, good price, well spotted. These are great. Forget Wifi, i have these to transfer LAN to my detached garage, and the rest of the house wired with Gigabit LAN. HD streams from my Home server with bandwith to spare. Good Post.

HOT! I bought a set of these from Amazon and they work great between two separate buildings approx 80 metres apart.....

Can't go far wrong with another set at this price....
#8
ok i added these to a basket and they come in at 42.49 EX VAT and then with VAT they go upto £48.86...

How do I get them at £43?
#9
You need to order them from the 'Today Only' page http://www.scan.co.uk/TodayOnly/Index.aspx clicking on the green 'Buy' button :)

The Zyxel PLA-400 (as opposed to this one PLA-401) is certainly one - functionally and performance-wise the same, but more flexible in terms of fitting and easier to tuck away. A bit easier on the eye too if they are in view. Rarely below £70 for a pair for these reasons I think

Damn, bought these on Friday last week for £48. :x Arrived yesterday.

Work like a treat though fair play...very good product

I'm voting HOT! :)
#12
to get the scan deal, you need to have at least 10 posts on Av forums to get the discount deal, good price though....
#13
Shouldn't the price on this include delivery, making it £50.68.....Not everyone is eligible for the AVForums free delivery (you have to be a member and have 10+ posts).

Still not a bad price for a good bit of kit.
#14
What does the +AV bit mean? Does each plug just have ethernet, or are there other connections?
#15
Superb, especially if you are an AVFORUMS member, its a right result. Many thanks OP

EXPIRED.

I was going to get these right now, didn't know there was a 1 o' clock cut off. Same happened with the ebuyer ones recently as they went from £34.99 to £44.99.

Brilliant link. Paid for it and have the invoice details with reduced price.

Maybe not so expired just yet heh heh.... Just make sure you use the link above as the offer has ended on the site.

Have just received authorisation of invoice and payment has been accepted so it went through even though it was past the sale point. Ordered it for Friday (Thursday was available).

Payment has now been authorised and we accept that the contract between us is now unconditional (save as may appear in our Terms and Conditions.) Your order is now being assembled and will be dispatched to you as soon as possible.

Glad it went through, I wonder how long it will last for though.....

Seems to be working, can it be unexpired please?
#21
cool thanks ordered another set for the sheds! going to try IP camera via this as wireless too flaky and bandwidth flooded with data.
#22
Just brought this deal today (9th jan) still they are letting the price go for the much lower price than they are now going for on their website :)

Yes the link won't work now.

My pair have arrived. Will get around to testing them out tonight. One thing I noticed about them is that they are massive.

You can get them from misco if you really want a pair - priced at £48.92 inc VAT (excluding delivery).
#25
cool got mine, they are massive and wll take up the slot next to them on a 4way block...
the software that comes with them allows you to change the Network Management Key to a Key you want.

This will stop anyone else from plugging into your mains and connecting to your LAN.

now just need to find LAN cards and wireless cards that will work upto the 200mb throughput.

recommended piece of kit though!

Purchased these the other day thinking they would be a 30 second install but was left scratching my head. Found out the ethernet cables suplied were paints, put 2 of my old ethernet cables on and it worked like a charm!.

Funny you should say that i brought a homeplug router from zyxel and the ethernet cable in there didnt work lol
#28
Yeh what is that about the cables not working?

Tried mine and they don't work either. Worth a complaint to scan?

What's the point including them......

More likely speaking to zyxel as they would make and package it...

Waiting for these to come down in price again.

A few places do them from time to time so its worth keeping an eye out. Mostly at scan as they put them in the today only offers.

I remember Misco doing them for £50 at the time. Amazon have done them as well.
Dabs as well - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/282827/zyxel-powerline-homeplug-av-adapter/
Ebuyer were selling single units for £30 - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/266569/zyxel-pla401-200mbps-powerline-inte/showthread.php?t=266569

There were some similar Linksys ones at Scan as well if you really want some homeplugs
£52.89 Inc VAT - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/322763/linksys-plk200-uk-wall-socket-power/

I'm not desperate for them right now so will wait until the price is right.
