yeah it used to be the case they weren't allowed for sale as you couldn't physically buy the card but I thought that had been relaxed and have seen quite a few being sold up until the last few days.

I to be honest hate it, as now I have to buy 3 Months Live instead of 1 Months for a nice price on here ( Which I prefered ) :)

A thread got closed the other day, it does have an RRP as a number of online shops sell them. The thing is like barky pointed out when I questioned him as to why a htread was closed Xbox give a lot of them away so people could be profiteering.

Although profiteering goes on all the time, using the 2100 points as an example, HMV were doing them for £6.99 at one point and I have no doubt many of them would have been sold on here for double what they paid for them. Proving it though is a different matter.

yeah that was one of the reasons they were initially banned but they've apparently been allowed to be traded for ages. here's an example of a thread from last month with mod intervention yet no mention that they were not allowed to be sold,

Barky closed a thread the other day, http://www.hotukdeals.com/for-sale-trade/wanted-xbox-live-1-month-code/887774#comments Like I say I did ask why it was closed (even thiugh it wasn'y my thread, and he stated they have no RRP. which is wrong as they do.

What is the point of having these forum helps if they don't know the rules and are going to close legitimate threads, for illegitimate reasons.

yeah it throws up yet again that the mods and helpers don't seem to be on the same wavelength or actually know the rules. As well as clarifying what the actual position re the cards is maybe it's time to have dedicated fs/ft mods and helpers who actually know the rules or at the very least get them altogether and actually be clear on the fs/ft rules.

Agreed. More then likely to fall on deaf ears though.

<<(Speaking in a loud voice) Would be nice for a mod, to clarify the rules on such items *HINT HINT"

We don't normally permit the resale of items that cannot be purchased elsewhere in the same format or those that are in a non tangible format.

Let me deal with the main issue raised in this thread and I'll relate to the specific item mentioned.

Can an xbox 1 month card be resold ?
Not unless the same card can be purchased elsewhere from an established UK retailer and in the same format being listed here. I have seen members link to sites, however I'm not aware of any retail outlet offering this within the UK. There is an option to subscribe monthly via xbox live, but that's a dd/cc payment and no physical monthly card offered. There are indeed some listings that remain live, perhaps some with recent mod postings and this may have led to some confusion amongst the members with regards to the validity of such listings. They aren't permitted at present, although should a member point to an established and reputable UK merchant offering the card at retail, we can reconsider our position.

Does that appear to contradict the position on some other listings on HUKD ? (made up mod question).
Probably so, if we take certain items that are allowed for listing, but cannot be purchased on it's own. We have permitted the resale of the Fifa codes that are supplied with the original item, but perhaps unused. It's not possible for the item to be purchased on a like for like basis (e.g. paper voucher), but we have permitted resale on the basis that there is a price comparison available and the fact that the member selling/offering has incurred a cost at some point (if the initial purchaser).

I'm probably responsible for not relaying the specific examples clearly enough to some of the other mods, hence the reason for some xbox live items appearing available for listing and others not.

cheers for the update.

maybe time for a get together with all the other mods/helpers as yet again not all of them actually know the fs/ft rules as these have openly been traded again for months.

edit: just an update to see what changed from sigma saying,

Re clarification on the 1 month codes, checking back aSb has allowed the one month codes to be listed recently, but did not permit the 48hr ones in FS/T. They are actually a number of sales & wanted threads for them currently so we'll allow this thread at present but will update if there is any further clarification, thanks.

in this thread, http://www.hotukdeals.com/for-sale-trade/xbox-live-1-month-code/752724#post-comment

and the codes being allowed on sale for months apparently with asbs blessing to them being outlawed in the last week or so.

No biggie just curious what prompted the change of heart.

Full clarification now live, amendment made to simplify the rule involved here and as always, we may ask for source / clarification if we're concerned about a particular listing. 48hr codes cannot be sold. They can be offered in misc but money cannot change hands for them at present.
