most of the deals on here are from mse or offeroftheday anyway, so what does it matter?
#2
personally doesnt bother me who posts - im just grateful to see the deals
#3
its unfair to see when people get the deal and others who spend effort posting miss out

Yeah, most people post from MSE, and then get all the credit on this side. It's good, but anyone can do that.

In reality, all internet deals... If you want something, you can normally get it cheaper than shops, it's the way it is.

The only real bonus of hotuk, is highstreet shops and groceries. For me, anyway. - But a site is now out that actually already does that for us, groceries atleast.

I think it's just the community holding this together now, and the fact its already established. Had it started up now, it probably wouldn't be as big.

there are more fs/wanted ads on here now than good deals! i think anything to encourage new members is good and if they cant see deals why would they bother?

its good to share!

Restricting viewing of deals to "qualifying" members would probably lead to fewer deals posted, fewer new members and a decline in the site.......

Many members stumble across this site from mentions on other sites such as MSE or AVforums. They have a browse, see some good deals posted, take advantage of some deals and then (maybe) join and post their deals If they couldn't view the deals without registering etc they would be discouraged from using the site......the site would lose a lot of potential members and the members would lose potential deal posters and possibly miss out on some good deals.

Oh i was agreeing with the first poster. Sorry if it came across as if it wasn't. I also agree if they done that, it would increase the amount of spam the forum has. Wouldn't be good at all.

You just gotta be on at the right time, if you don't wanna miss any deals.

One thing to ponder bhara is whether you believe on the balance you have contributed more than you have received from other members? Usually in a community this size there is more benefit from being a part than the amount you put in - everyone puts in a little and on the whole it becomes something useful.

With that in mind I think it is in the interest of the community to encourage people to take part and join the community and hopefully one day they will spot a fantastic deal. However maybe they only do it once, maybe they never find their own deal but improve the quality and info on other deals, maybe they are an expert in just a niche area... in all those case they are making they are helping others and making this site better. It's not always just about posting lots of deals.

Another site used to give the poster a 10% of the cashback the site made for that deal.
While it was a good system, it did mean lots of dell deals were posted ;)
