surely the easiest way as a new member to find out the best deals etc is to filter all the "hot" deals to the top...

Its is a very good idea - it would fit very nicely into a help forum, which could contain serious discussion, help requests, tips about the site and shopping and general advice threads. This could be different to the misc/nonsense forum which would have all the chat, games, congrats and nonsense threads...

(think I need a new skin for this drum, its pretty worn out)

That doesn't always work though, because its not necessarily deals, these things quite often end up in Misc, loads of people regularly post asking about Quidco, for example. There was the Tesco raincheck thread (maybe last week), people commented that it has been posted loads before, but others also said they never knew. This could cut down on repeat posts as well.:)

Great idea OP, but as with most innovations like that on this site, it just wouldn't work because people will either ignore it or think their way is better and post everything separately. :-(

This only shows that new deals - but many things are not new but can be used (as quidco) in conjunction with other things - or as with the AV forums apply all the time but again are not new,

So it died a death in a fit of apathy!
